I'd go for a 20,000 drop and take getting tickets less often on the basis that I'd enjoy it more when I was there.

Agreed. And speaking as a local I'd also accept a proportional drop in the number of local tix available.

It is true that locals get almost guaranteed weekend tickets if they stump up the full £210. But a fair few locals don't want the full weekend experience.

Don't suppose you know roughly how many tickets are held back for locals each year? I've gotten through with ease every year I've had to get them

I don't know how many tix are held back for locals.I think around 5K from memory. But I do know that I have never failed to get one when I have wanted one. The ticket lines are kept open for days and are manic for the first few hours but you can usually get through on day 2 with no probs and get a ticket.

There are IIRC 5000 sunday tickets and I think these are somewhat offset by people leaving the site on Sunday so it's not really many more people on site it's just that those people will tend to congregate around the main areas

I'm not sure as many people leave on Sunday as you think. They pack up their tents & stuff in the morning, but that doesn't mean they actually go.

I'd rather eliminate tickets for the locals on Sunday. The crowds just swelled that day and made getting anywhere a pretty joyless task. A lot of them were chair-sitting misery guts as well, as far as I can tell. I know they're trying to give preference to the surrounding areas but it isn't necessary and made Sunday worse, for me anyway.

And exactly how could you tell they were local? Did they have a pint of cider?, talk like Adge Cutler? or have PILTON tattooed across their foreheads?

I doubt the extra 5K made a difference to the crowd and as another poster said, people leave on Sunday for various reasons.

If you were a villager then you could make the comment "it isn't necessary" however as a Piltonian I can say that without the goodwill of the village there would be no festival.

I would like to see it cut by a quarter, no Sunday only tickets, and ticket price upped to cover the cost. It has got to big, I enjoyed it this year but not all the queue's for toilets and the constant pushing and shoving, bloody seats seem to increase on Sundays, maybe a bit controversial, but to many children there as well.

Aren't you going on a Sunday ticket this year?

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
