I reckon the clientele has changed a bit too. I mean the yoof who know how to enjoy themselves as you put will go to stuff like V or R&L. I've been to the latter and been in some pretty crazy crowds. Were there loads of old people at Glastonbury in the 90s?

I didn't go in the 90s, but from what I've heard there was quite a rebellious, drug fuelled, sometimes violent attitude there, more like you get at R&L or T these days. That wouldn't really be appropriate for parents taking their children would it?

EDIT: In fact, I'd say the fence might have something to do with the more sedate crowds

However, youve hit the nail on the head with the second bit. The actual logical explanation and the only accurate explanation for this is the sheer numbers that were on the site back then. You didn't have a choice in moving, and while it might look good on tv, its lucky nobody was killed.
