Pencilled-in headliners that have pulled out

U2 have pulled out 3 times by my count.

Firstly in the 80s (82 or 83?) when they were booked, advertised and cancelled very late on. Although that one wasn't headlining.

Secondly in 2005 when they had a verbal agreement to play and even started booking tour dates with Glastonbury in mind - until they signed an exclusive deal with Clear Channel. I've heard this first hand from someone who worked alongside the U2 organisation at the time, so I fully trust that it's true.

Then we all know the story from 2010.

Mumford and sons were supposed to sub the stones, and fleetwood mac were supposed to headline the sunday, beyonce was apparently meant to sub prince, and Neil said in a chatroom (he could be joking) fourth was Girls Aloud.

Just did a google for Prince glastonbury 2011 and found that The Sun said he was going to play. Did Neil work out whether that was bollocks or whether he dropped out?
