In all fairness, lucky said this before me and I've maintained it all the time, check my posts. See how often they play R&L compared to V and T

To be fair it's a good shout with the prodigy and would be a perfect fit. Still very popular with people my age, I know plenty who make the short hop to see the prodigy and there also popular with the younger generation, they would probably need a big hitter as the other headliner though.

Would be funny if v managed to get arctic monkeys and prodigy from the clutches of r&l, would also be a step in the right direction for v.

it would also be stockpiled with w*nkers

prodigy crowd would be equally as bad as the C&S crowd at R&L, and arctics would be full of cringey fangirls, you can't win :(

They probably would. I'd say if the Oasis rumor is true enough, they may well have it lol.

Thing is with The Prodigy doing V, it opens up T and Bestival and like Tennants Vital

But if they do V and T as headliners then R&L aren't going to get away with subs. The thing that could well stop R&L getting them due to this as well is that they'd ask them to do no other show and yes they could share with T but this doesn't happen and hasn't for years, whereas with V there is no holding back.

Only thing that might stop Bestival is IOW

I've seen prodigy quite a lot down the years and the crowds always been fantastic, never seen the 'w*nker' element anyway.

I suppose there's more annoying people with arctic monkeys there boring live, nice haircut though.

I'm suprised they didn't do one of v or r&l this year with doing pukkelpop this year.

neither have I but the upcoming generation (mine) that are starting to attend festivals are dreadful, if you'd experienced chase & status like I had you'd understand, I think a lot of dance crowds are heading in that way, so if the prodigy headlined V, it would definitely attract a lot of bad sorts!

I saw chase and status at werchter last year and no twattish behaviour, perhaps it's just the Leeds crowd or I'm used to dicks more.

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
