im driving my mate up wed morning and hes litter picking ...hes not sure if hes camping with us or whether he has to camp in a certain field .ive told him that as far as i know he has to camp with you but is allowed to move tent once festi starts ie fri on wards .

You can camp where you like if youre litter picking and possibly agree to meet your group where you are working but if you arent allowed to do that then you will have a megatrek up to toms field and back down to your working area at the start of the shift not to mention to get your free food.

Thats my understanding anyway. Plus you will have a shift monday morning if you are on earlies and your tent may get scavenged if you havent taken it down beforehand ie 530 in the morning.

If you're volunteering with the festival crew, organised by the lovely Fiona, you need to go into the web page where you registered & did the H & S test thing. You will also be getting a letter with info about where to pick-up your ticket in early June.

please note this is for 2007 so while the field has not moved some of the gates may have been redesignated

while I have been a festival volunteer for over 20 years its nothing to do with litter picking but I do know there is several independent Groups this year doing litter picking/Recycling so its not clear who you are working for but one would presume if there was one for your group you would know about it by now.

If you are working for the festival litterpickers you can pick up your tickets as soon as you get there.

The ticket offices open a bit later on Wednesday due to the gates bring locked until whenever they let everyone in (about 8ish??), but as long as you go to the gate which you stated you'd pick your ticket up from you should be sorted to get in. If you're not it will probably be me who has to sort out getting you in - lucky you!

when i said 2 people wait for there tickets wot i meant was ..if 2 people that didnt have tickets [ just normal punters ] went up on tue/wed morning and they had to hang around until there friends came up maybe late wed/thur would they be allowed to just hang around the out side of the site or would the security move them off ive been asked to take 2 people up but there friends are coming up till a few hours/days later ....they are only 18/19 and im not responsible for them but dont fancy dropping them off just so they get moved on....plus im going to gate A and there friends are in the campervan field tother side of the site......they cant just wander round can they and if the tic holders dont get there till late thur wot will they do...

As 'crew' you will be able to get on site without tickets as you will have your letter off Fiona. Are you getting dropped off at Red Gate or coming by bus? You make a comment about 'dropping them off', which would suggest you're bringing a car - if so that would mean you need to be at Blue Gate (B) - this should by B, but it keeps making a smiley face, grrrrr. I'm just not down with the kids any more.....

Some punters have to pick tickets up onsite due to issues with the post, the ticket office is at Red (A) Gate and there are usually lots of people milling about at that gate for hours. However, I would hate to have to hang around down there for 24 hours, and there would be a big possibility that security would shift them.

Just a thought but I thought you had to show your tickets as you drive in, a ticket for each person. I'm sure that people get to the gates without tickets but maybe you're taking a chance of getting turned away if you don't have enough tickets to match the amount of people in your vehicle.
