Why not auction it on here?

Not for money, I know that's against the efestivals rules, and quite right, but you could ask what silly things people would do on site in return for that ticket. You could then announce the winner, and what they're going to do (at the cider bus meet for example), and there'll be lots of efestivals posters there to make sure they go through with it! might lead to a new friendship too!

Meant to say... What age (ish) are you golden girl? If you don't mind me asking... I don't think I'd ever stop wanting to go to... I might not be able to get the cash together at some point but I don't think I'd every stop WANTING to go!

I know what you mean, and I'm sure many people would agree, but remember, it's not for everybody. A lot of people do it as a sort of 'bucket list' idea, many others go once and can't cope with the crowds, or toilets, or mud etc. and decide not to go again. Millions have no interest for many reasons.

I would imagine most of the posters on this forum would feel pretty restricted on an all-inclusive hotel package holiday somewhere. It would go against the adventurous spirit of your average Glastonbury fan. But different people have different ideas of how to spend their leisure time. Fair play to them, I'd rather they give it a miss if they're not too bothered. It'd be a bit shit if Worthy farm was half full of people who didn't really want to be there, and only went because a friend had a spare ticket!

Yes quite agree, this will be my 20th Glastonbury I'm 40. My 1st was 84, I have attended with various types over the years - probably the worst was a couple that just wanted to shop the entire time & spent hours browsing the main markets - should have stayed in Bournemouth!

I know my bones creak a bit in the mornings when I camp and I probably take 5 cups of coffee to wake up BUT nothing would stop me going - and in 20 years I will just have a camper instead :)

Bloody hell, your avatar just changed! (not for the worse, I might add!) We're only a couple of years apart, but I can see a lot of people I know of a similar age not going for it. I think the older you get, the less likely you are to try festival life for the first time (with a few exceptions). I first went to Glastonbury in 2010, at the age of 35, and was blown away, but many others at the same age would've been glad when it was over. Some go in their teens or twenties, and decide it's not for them, others do the same, and keep going every year into old age. My bones creak a bit too, but I won't stop going. Even if you don't find anyone you know to give the ticket, come and meet us there, and you'll find many like-minded people!

Mine too. I tried it once, in my teens, but never again. Every trip I take now is planned by me and my wife. We can explore the area we are visiting, pick our own food, entertainment and scenery. I can't help thinking that package tours are basically designed for people with no imagination. Sad.

    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.

    • I don't think I'm alone as a Scotland fan that there is no way that I could possibly fall asleep knowing we're about to play our first World Cup game in 28 years! Pure adrenaline is keeping me wide awake (and plenty of rum)!
    • Trying to stay awake for the footy so it’s just the easy option of a battery😊😉
