I am sorry but I'm trying to explain to my nephew tonight that Glastonbury isn't just a festival he thinks that he can turn up on the Internet and to buy ticket. He's very young he doesn't know better. He's 21 years old and doesn't know any better

Yep it's normal I'm afraid. Intelligent, well adjusted friends of mine asked me last week when tickets come on sale as they'd like to come. It happens all the time really, people really have no clue that they go on sale in October or that it sells out.

Maybe I need new friends

It's hard to understand but there are a small percentage of the country who don't underdtand how special and wonderful Glastonbury is. These feckless imbeciles probably aren't worthy of the time and effort but the only way to resolve this troubling issue is to constantly go on about how wonderful it is and how they obviously don't get 'it'.

Pretty much everyone I tell about Glastonbury (apart from the friends who have been to Glastonbury before) didn't have any idea about the arrangement on getting tickets, they all assumed it's like other festivals where you can get them any time of year.

Since the stones announcement my dad's gone from telling me I could make a mint selling my ticket (Photo ID!...plus its just bad karma for getting tickets you really want to see :P) to wanting to come along and get him a ticket.

Than raptor jesus for the registration system IMO! We should be thankful people are not as obsessive as those who have been :P

There's a mate of mine, every year without fail he rings me at the festival whilst watching it on telly saying it looks amazing and he's definately going next year.

Then close to ticket time I ask him if he's going, and it's like "Nah, £200 is a lot of money when you don't even know the lineup". Then the lineup comes out and it's "I wish I'd got a ticket now" and so the cycle continues!

I know he's a mate and all but tbh I'm glad he doesn't come! I love glasto and yet it can be a hard slog and there's usually at least a couple of lows over the course of the weekend when I ask why I go. Since he doesn't want to be there enough to take a chance on the lineup I can imagine him moaning all weekend!

Imagine how hard it would be to get a ticket if everyone "got" it though!

I asked one of my friends last October if he wanted to go and he had decided not to i had told him about all the rumours by that point too and wasn't too interested. Come line up day i never even mentioned that i had asked him and he said "I wish i had just bought a ticket" and i said to him "I told you it would be good".
