yeah, 06 and 07 were belters for weather, 08 I think the place was a mudbath on the wednesday, its been hit and miss ever since. having to wear wellies to the arena everyday is a nightmare, zaps the energy right out of you, and noone like dancing with wellies on

I've never seen it as bad as Glasto, thank god.

It never will be - at Reading anyway (I've not been to Leeds to know).

The soil at Glasto is clay, which drains badly. At Reading there's almost no soil and then there's gravel which drains very well (particularly with the river right next to it).

And then there's the fact that Glasto is at the start of the summer where the summer air hasn't had a chance to dry the soil particularly well, meaning that Glasto has a much greater chance of starting from a poor position with water-logged ground than Reading has.

2010 our coach was an hour late, then queueing, getting set up, going tescos. I don't think I've ever been so wet in my life, I didn't have any waterproof clothing on so I wore a binbag suit on the way back from tescos, the humidity in the bags just made me sweat like crazy instead.

Last years arrival was sick though, sat in the sun drinking beers in the queue on the wednesday afternoon, laughing at people arriving thursday in the rain. Although the £1 asda poncho paid for itself on the arena days. I'm still rocking the wellies I got in 2010 even though they're a size small.

I paid £25 for some size 10's then swapped with my mate for his size 11's after my doc martins sprung a leak. £25? I'm getting my moneys worth even if they do kill my feet.

2010 the weather at night time was freezing, horrible. 2011 was okay, still pissed it down now and again. 2009 was windy as fuck, but was good. 2008 was good except for sunday morning where it was raining. 2007 was literally like Saudi Arabia in august, i nearly died pitting in the lock up tent. Just shows you how versatile the British weather is.

Last year the mud in the arena at Leeds on Fri/Sat was pretty bad, I don't mind a bit of rain but when it takes ages to get between stages it's a pain. 2007 was the best year for weather, sunny and don't think it rained once!!

Forgot about the cold in 2010, it got so cold that I was wearing all my clothes, and a sleeping bag, elevated from the cold ground and spooning with 2 other people in my tent and my hands were still tinged blue. And I'm not a skinny guy.

Tried the alcohol coat but nope, half a bottle of whisky didn't help anything, 6am we left our shit and went home.

Really pissed me off the campfire ban that year because we couldn't even have a barbecue to cook some hot food on back at camp (one lot said fine then some ghostbusters put it out, c**ts).

Weren't to bad the other days where we had the fire but I've never been that cold since.

    • 1. Baby Dave - Billy 2. A - Prang   Not really got round to listening to many more in May so not really fair to vote but shoutout to EPs from Bleech 9:3 - Bleech 9:3 & Villanelle - Measly Means
    • Guitarricadelafuente was bloody brilliant tonight. This is going to be a very Spanish focussed year for me. Rusowsky dragging out Las Ketchup on Saturday has the potential to be a Prima magic moment.
    • £112 for standard entry. No thank you.
    • Meanwhile Gracie Abrams is £92 for the cheapest with the average price around £160 for lower tier and £103 standing.   First time in a while I've gone from a definite yes to a definite no on price alone.   Amble was £31 this morning.
