HELP SAVE THE ROCK OYSTER FESTIVAL

Hello All

I know you're all keen festival goers and supporters of good honest fun.

So, I was hoping you might help bring to the public awareness, the travesty

that is set to take place in Cornwall...

This year would be the third year of the wonderful Rock Oyster Festival

primarily this is a food festival but has since grown to include and offer

great arts and music for all ages. This year's lineup was set to include

The Bees, Dub Pistols and London Afrobeat Collective to name but a few.

The Rock Oyster Festival offers great music, local food and arts on a site

that takes your breath away. Much like that of Hay on Wye or similar family

oriented festivals.

However, in response to a complaint by one local disgruntled camp site owner

to the local Cornish Council they have now imposed such draconian

sound ordinances and curfews as to make the festival unworkable.

Such measures would include 65 dB limit for live sound (almost impossible!)

to finish completely by midnight or else a £5000 fine will be issued. Campers

sharing a joke in their tent would set of the 5Db alarms.

I urge you and your listeners to voice your complaints to Cornwall Council via

their Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/CornwallCouncilCommunications

Let's do what we can to save this wonderful festival. Keep on keepin' on...

Best wishes,

~ Will Waghorn.
