I wore my trainers at Reading this year, while my trainers were abit muddy, my feet were fine.

? we must have been at two different festivals, yeah it was muddy at leeds but it wasnt ttthhhat bad walking boots done the job, no need for wellies, and by sunday i had my trainers on again.

been far worse at a lot of glastonburys, and on the plus side for leeds, the festivals that small you dont have to walk far.

downside is that there are some horrific soundclashes due to stages being so close together,

I went to Leeds for the day yesterday. As a veteran of many glastonburys I was fearing the worst after some of the posts above. I needn't have worried, it was barely muddy at all, most of the arena was fine. Some scare mongering may have occurred...

It dried up pretty quickly to be fair at Leeds and by yesterday the whole arena had pretty much dried up. However, Fri/Sat it was absolutely awful, the worst i've seen by a mile at any festival.

I didn't find Leeds too muddy I was thinking "this is pretty muddy but it could be a lot worse", I haven't seen much festival mud before so if that really is the worst a festival can offer then I can stop worrying about the rain whenever it's forecast, I got through it fine. Actually it was pretty fun to have a bit of mud at times.

Walking boots were fine at reading for Saturday, by Sunday (as at Glastonbury) trainers would have been alright, it's surprising how quickly it dries with little sun or heat and a bit of wind...

Friday at Leeds was a mudbath, not as bad as Glasto gets but 11hours of solid rain meant some areas got pretty dodgy- problem is that I don't think they have the infrastructure (or maybe the inclination) to deal with it in the same way - there was no tracking to be seen virtually anywhere and loads of potholes which equalled some pretty minging areas, particularly when trying to walk uphill. Though the 'signage' was pretty poor too, walking from arena at two am back to brown car park, in the dark and pissed, was basically just a guessing game as to which direction to take. I've done Glasto in some pretty horrific years and there was no way that the mud was anywhere near as bad there -but there are ways that they could so it 'better'

Reading is fine - its muddy but boots will do rather than wellies, very easy to avoid the bad bits - trainers would be be a bit silly though.

I was in Wellies all weekend, would deffo have worn trainees on the Sunday but they would have got dirty, so opted to stay on wellies, just so I didnt have to clean two sets of footwear!

All in Reading as a non camper was absolutely fine weatherwise, bar having nowhere to really sit for the 3 days which made it a bit of a chore stamina wise. I was knackered as hell by the time Muse came on.

No really bad rain affected us at any key times, so I shouldn't complain, it would be nice to have a sunny one though!
