Orbital DJ set

Haha yeah I didn't wanna miss it. Obviously it wasn't a patch on last year at the other stage. My vid isn't too bad considering it was on my phone. I expected more people to be there myself though. I wonder how many of the tunes were demos for the new album and I also wonder which was the special song just for Arcadia.

went back to campsite after chems for 15mins, headed to arcadia , bit of a queue where they made a filter lane at the circus but once through that was a stroll the rest of the way and was there for orbiital starting. loads a room to bounce about.

I got a text around 1:30 saying DaveMac had gotton in after watching Coldplay. So raging with jealousy I shuffled over from the green fields. Queue start to Arcadia entry took maybe 20 minutes. Caught best part of the set, all very noodly and the flames seemed less impressive than last year, but a nice few old tracks at the end. :)

I watched flogging molly in the avalon, who finished later than the main stages... The stood by theastrolabe waiting for the crew who were (still) coming from chems, even had time to get drinks from the swamp bar so mustve been half 1 by the time we met up outside the one way, and I still remember seeing the group of about 6 djs before orbital so the queue time was definitely bullshit... And I didnt even know they were on, we were just stood by the mexican food place waiting for a dealer when I noticed that they had the flashy headlight shit, can also confirm the field was pretty bare, walked from the mexican food place (next to the first entrance to arcadia from one way) to the arc bar (i think thats what it was called) without having to stop and it was on the other side of the stage in the opposite end of the field AND I was with a large group of intoxicated people... Scored and left for shangri la without really giving them a chance, dont really like techno or house or whatever they play... (sorry orbital fans)

All 3 of my mates got the LED's and I didnt! One of my mates was right at the front, and Mr Orbital kept trying to throw one to him but missed about 3 times. He got one to him in the end though!

We went to Arcadia at about 10pm, so no queues/one way system. We watched the show at midnight and huing about for Orbital. I thought they were brillaint, and we had loads of room!

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
    • Taxi mafia running their usual scam.
