To make it worse, one of those fields (pennards)hill was significantly smaller this year cos a chunk of it went to crew camping. The other fields are a hefty trek away from the late night area exit. If you, like late nights at some point you're going to end up in the late night areas and it's fair enough, I think, to have a minor gripe about the distance you have to trek if you weren't lucky enough to get into pennards... ;-)

Hell yes :P Survival instinct and all that :P

Its not so much the setting aside, its the moaning about it filling and having to walk far away when the loads of people for campsite proper had to give up their usual spots anyway this year. I am not saying its bad thing what the festival does, but your technically paying less and getting better treatment with reserved fields close to certain areas.

i've been going the last 3 years with friends and wife. in 2013 we'd love to bring our children, who'll be 4 1/2 and 2.

coming from italy, we'll have to bring all our stuff by plane. so, i have a few questions for all the parents here:

1) what the family camping areas (cockmill and wicket ground) have different from other areas? are there toilettes and showers for children? (i already know the showers at the bottom of the kids field)

2) what's the best way to carry children around the farm when they're tired and sleepy? what do you use?

thanks and forgive my english

Hats off to all the awesome parents willing to share the magic of Glasto with their little ones. Here's to hoping one day they will grow up to realize how lucky they are to have parents like you lot!

Hi cartonio! You can't beat a garden trolley for carting the around in. They can sit and sleep in it, and you can carry any extra supplies you need in it.

My twins 6 and a 10 year old got to stay up for primal scream and the chemical brothers. If they had been walking at that time of night there isno way they would have made it! If you are hiring a car or something stop off at a garden centre on the way :)

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
