Just seen a cop car parked on those crossing Zig Zags too ......... w*nkers

enbee: You dont need to know about cameras - you need to NOT EXCEED THE SPEED LIMIT AND DRIVE SAFELY!!!!!

If you want to end up in a car like this... 3B3F947A-F5A2-27C1-510007141CE413FF.jpg

then you could drive off a cliff - but dont ask for advice about putting others peoples lives in danger!!!!!

Too hard on the brakes again

What if these brakes just give in?

What if they don't get out of the way?

What if there's someone overtaking?

I'm going out for a little drive

And it could be the last time you see me alive

There could be an idiot on the road

The only kick in life is pumping his steel

Wrap me up in the back of the trunk

Packed with foam and blind drunk

They won't ever take me alive

'Cause they all drive...

Don't die on the motorway

The moon would freeze, the plants would die

I couldn't cope if you crashed today

All the things I forgot to say

I'm going out for a little drive

And it could be the last time you see me alive

What if the car loses control?

What if there's someone overtaking?

Wrap me up in the back of the trunk

Packed with foam and blind drunk

They won't ever take me alive

'Cause they all drive killer cars

(Thom Yorke / Radiohead)

My word, who ruffled your feathers?

No need to thank me for my help as I did not offer any.

There is a very simple way to check if the speed limit is 50 or 70...

The 50 limit will show this... TSC67050TM.jpg

and the 70 limit will show this... 70mph-kph-sticker-75-p.jpg

You then take your foot off this... accelerator_pedal.jpg to slow down or put your foot on it again to speed up.

My advice is to look for those signs and simply follow what they say. There then will be no need to check for cameras.

Its a very complicated concept these signage things so I will bid this thread farewell and allow you to use your time more constructively by researching the highway code.

And thanks for the Oasis lyrics, they wipe the floor with those Radiohead ones. :D

(BTW) Motorways were desgined to cut through cities etc to allow quicker travel. If a motorway (for ANY reason) has a 50 limit in place regardless of whether it is an average speed zone or not, then it is highly unlikely that there will be a duplicate motorway next to it with a 70mph limit. You basicly travel the motorway, follow the signs and obey the speed limits. Unless you have a helicopter or a pendolino, plan your quickest route on a sat nav or Google Earth and drive! You could always stick to the A-roads though and coast there at 30mph.

Done! B)

It was you who ruffled my feathers by suggesting that I am prepared to put other peoples (including best friends and girlfriend) lives at risk by breaking speed limits.

I was after advice regarding the roads I mentioned as last year I drove down the A1/M1 and passed through a 50mph average speed check zone for about an hour and a friend drove down the M6 without the 50mph zone.

Its a no-brainer which one most people would rather do, hence the reason for the question.

If you have got any other advice/help for me, please feel free to pass this on.

Uptight replies on this. He has explained why he was asking. Stop being righteous fools an forget it. Everyone knows speed kills, we don't need it ramming down our necks when someone is asking an innocent question.

Think if your original post asked if there were any 50mph zones then it would not have come across wrong to myself and others because asking about 'cameras' generally means only one thing. No harm done.

Depends on how far North you are travelling from, there is a long section of works with ave speed cameras from south of Darlington to Dishforth. Guaranteed to extend your journey. I did the run from York down to Shelton mallet last week and didn't encounter any road works.

    • Seems the addition of the Sun Stage area is interesting. Suspect this is the area where the Stage 4 used to be pre-2024. Looks as though they want to try create some space to keep people in amongst the arena post-headliners, rather than just crowds all descending back on the campsite entertainment at once.
    • 2000 Trees - 3 Day Tickets on Concert for Carers to buy (pair £15) sure they will not have them for long, I cant check if they are still available as it now says I have already bought tickets.
    • times and technology has changed , a pyramid headliner is often about the show thats put on as much as the music like it or not and as much as many would like to you cant really blame an artist for trying to get the best out of the set both for the audience in the field and for the cameras also .... Beyonce was 15 years ago
