height enhancer!

OK - I must stress this is NOT for an adult. However my friends younger cousin, (who's only 12) who's short, can never see anything..She's happy with this the majority of the festival, watching from far back and chilling etc. However, for one act she would like to be able to step up onto something OCCASIONALLY for a fav song and to be at almost an average adult height.

I have seen some people using very small plastic like steps, I've also soon people use 2 small folded out type mini seats, (although look too small to sit?)

I obviously don't won't to encourage this type of thing for adults and stress it's just for one act and a few songs and even with these type of things she would still only be a bit less than average adult..Just would like to surprise her by pulling it out of the bag.

Where do i get something like this? If anyone can help I would, and she would be very grateful..

Cheers, Dan

Being a short arse myself I came up with something...bought one of those plastic steps from a cheap shop, drilled a whole in two legs (diagonally opposite) and threaded through a strap so it goes over my shoulder. Works a treat and you can sit on it too.

Alternatively, my mate swears by her JML fold up step, but these are about a tenner IIRC...

One day i'm going to invent some stilt mechanism for wellies...that'll stop those 6 footers from laughing!

Something like this maybe, lightweight and folding. Try Wilkinsons locally or search for 'folding camping step' lots of different varieties but stay away from the JML ones as they are shit not very good.

Or let her sit on someone's shoulders for a while?

While other tall people may moan a bit when it's some fat 5'7" woman, can't be many genuine complaints when it's a 12 year old girl!

How about a decent plastic storage box, turned upside down? You could use it to carry drinks and snacks, flip it upside down, lid to the floor and use it as a step.

I don't have a problem in the slightest with short people having a step, big difference from a chair that takes up the space of 4 standing adults and short folk should be entitled to see as well. Hell, I feel guilty being a tall bloke in a hat!

The free cardboard periscopes that were given out at the Royal Wedding worked a treat. We ended up getting 6 and giving them away to all the kids around us who were then able to see the screens over the crowds at Hyde Park. See if you can get something on Fleabay.

I have one of these I use all the time around the house which I shall be strapping to my bag for Glasto. Lightweight, folds up and much easier than carrying a chair around site. Although I maybe an adult, I am the height of a twelve year old! I get so frustrated with the tallest people in crowds standing right in front of me because they see a space above my head and think it's a space. The amount tapping on shoulders and 'seriously, THAT'S where you're going to stand' eyebrows I have to do increases every year. Luckily, when they realise most people let me scoot in front.

I'm waiting for the day they start organising crowds in height order.

hmmm been a 4" 11 short arse I may invest in one of those folding step things - looks quite good. There are plenty of 12 years olds taller than me - my guide unit take it in turns after every holiday to see who has grown taller than me!

Not being funny, but you can't expect people NOT to react to someone using "steps" or whatever if they are in front of you.

If everyone did this then you would be back to square one.

Sorry, but if ur too short then just live with it.

There is a possible problem in that you may get bumped into and fall off or if it's muddy slip off without any help! I do understand the problem though, although i'm 6ft my wifes a good foot shorter and it's hard to find a spot at a stand up gig where she can see.
