Selling a ticket

Just out of interest, has anyone on here not been able to go but has only found this out after the cancellation date, meaning their ticket is useless? Just wondered if anyone has ever dared sell a ticket on to someone who looks nothing like their photo!

Last year my friend dropped out last minute without paying me for the ticket. I put the ticket on Gumtree for face value alongside a brief description of the photo and emailed the photo itself for folk to judge their similarities for themselves. Subsequently sold it to a chap who said he had bought a ticket the same way the previous year and weas in no way concerned about not getting in.

It was a couple of days worth of messing around, but worked out OK in the end.

Yes, I'm a bit weary of saying anything, but if there's anyone out there wanting to go that looks like a woman in her early-thirties, PM me!

I bought tickets last year off ebay for me and my wife.

Just say to the buyer that there is a risk that they can't get in and just make sure they know that before they buy the ticket.

The ticket i boguth was nothing like me and i mean nothing like me!!!!!

We both got in.

Just a case of if you get a jobsworth ticket checker.

There is not much risk towards the seller, so dont panic.

Having a skinhead normally I've often thought it might work ok both ways - either me buying a hair'd person's ticket or them buying mine. Either way, you claim I've just grown/shaved it.

I did try and give mine away on the local freecycle in 07, but they wouldn't allow it and I was too mashed up on opiate-derivative pain killers and a pretty incapacitated body to do anything useful :(.

ive known a few people to have done this in recent years and had no problems....my mate last year looked nothing like the person in the ticket he'd bought from.

but its very important to specify to whoever you sell to that there is still a chance they will be refused entry.

If you do, why not ask the seller if they could stick a utility bill in with the ticket, identity theft aside, should do the trick if questioned

Think pics on tics is great but there is no way I wouldn't risk it if was unsuccesful as it was really tricky getting through this year for a lot of people where I have sailed through in the past with persistence

Just to add some balance to this thread for the benefit of people who haven't been before, the photo on my ticket always gets scrutinised really carefully. It could be because I don't arrive til the Friday (as I stay off site) and the turnstiles are pretty quiet by then.

Or maybe I just look shifty.

I have a paid-for ticket but my friend can no longer go - I have another friend who is desperate to go but have just phoned See to ask for a transfer / refund - the guy was adamant no matter what I said that there was nothing I could do.

Seems a shame to have a wasted ticket when so many are desperate to go - has anyone gone through on someone else's ticket, been questioned and shown ID /utility bill of the original ticket holder - and been allowed through?

One of our group last year could not go. She sold her ticket on Ebay, buy it now face value. It sold in minutes.

Only problem was she got her ebay account cancelled because of it.

Never did find out if the person who bought it got in or not because my mate never heard from her after the event.
