Dance Field campsite

arriving at bristol airport at around 9.40 - have to stop somewhere to get supplies then most likely get the bus from temple meads so being optimistic we'd hopefully be arriving around early afternoon (however i could be very wrong). Just wondering are the queues still massive at that time and also, how quickly does the dance field camping fill up? would there still be much space left at that time??

Thanks

Hi, we camped 3 tents and an awning in the dance field last year on wednesday evening and there was still a fair few reasonably sized plots. The area was a lot better than I always thought it would be and never got as crammed as pennards but try to avoid the west of the field of you mind the smells pic cows.

For the last 2 years we hav got there at about 2pm and we managed to find a spot for around 6 tents so its not that bad.

Never stayed anywhere else and tbh cant imagine i would want to.

The other stage is a great place to catch the early bands and dance village is just there so great for the late nights.

Does anyone who what is between the dance field and the dance village? There is always a strong flood lght coming from there and its blocked of for festival goers.

We stayed there last year, if you look at the aerial picture from last year, there is a huge gap in the dance field with no tents at all. So it is okay, we got there about 1:30pm last year, and we got a decent speck in the vicinity of the other stage. However, if it slaughtered down, it'd be the first place to flood, it's completely flat.

Oh that was a problem in 2005, big storm = big flood!

The Other stage was swamped but bottom of Pennard's Hill was worse with tents under water! It still amazes me that the same day people found canoes to paddle about in :O

When we camped there last year, we waited until after the football on the wednesday to get our tents down. so abut 1 and a half hours after ended up camped in dance. Not that I spent much time at camp
