Balance Payments - where's the deadline gone?

Just been on the Glasto website and read the Ticket Info page, as needed to check whether the balance payments for each ticket can be made separately (they can). Then I noticed that it now says 'balance payments' can be made at a 'later date'. When I bought the tickets, this page was quite clear that the balance payment window was from 1 to 7 April. Now it just says that the 'deadline for balance payments is 7 April'. Been onto See and there's no online facility to pay the balance.

Can anyone clear up this mystery? Has there been a change to plans? Can we pay before 1 April? If so, how......

(They also say tickets will be sent out via DX again. Bad news folks!! Why oh why oh why can't they use the Royal Mail, then at least we can collect the bleedin tkts from our local post office if we're not around when the postie calls? Stress building already. LOL)

Agreed! Depots are always a total nightmare to get to without a car and pretty much defeats the entire purpose of a 'delivery'. Royal Mail is 100x easier. They should at least give the option to send through RM, I wouldn't mind paying a few quid extra to save the hassle.

Don't remind me of the DX.. they came to my house at 5am, my dad who's usually up at 5am, said no one knocked on the door, and when he was leaving for the gym, there was a note saying left at 5:30, when it was 5:15.

Another occasion about 5 days later was, we'll have it to you by 10am, so i waited and waited and had to leave for work at 2pm, and i left at 2, and my dad arrived at 2.05, and in that time they came.

Eventually on the 6th time of re-ordering, we got our tickets at 9pm at night.. Family asleep and a huge knock on the door, The fella continued to shout orders at me, because he got back to the depot and realised my ticket was still in his car, so he had to go from Chester to Maghull (about an hours drive away) to give me it!

Regardless, the giddy joy you get when you read the map for the first time is a joy to hold.

I was waiting in all day for my tickets to arrive and they never turned up, so phoned and made another drop date. When the guy turned up I asked him what happened about the first delivery. He said it was another chap and that he could not deliver them as there was no front door???. I had to show the second guy the front door and he made some notes gave me my tickets and went. I take it that the first guy got a bo****ing. :D

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
