HOF AWARDED AGAIN.

Heineken Open'er Festival won prestigious award for the second year running at the European Festival Awards in Groningen - the most important European festival awards granted by Yourope, Eurosonic Noorderslag and Virtual Festivals Europe.

I am all sorted to get to Opener again this year (3rd time) and was hoping for some decent bands to have been announced by now with it being the 10th aniversary?

I know they always drag out revealing who is playing right up to the festival date, but hoped for more by now

Any info on who might be playing?

KOL, Foo Fighters, Chemical Brothers, The Streets, The Strokes, Muse, Radiohead ????

I don't think Muse or Chemical Brothers will play. They were playing last year on Coke Live Music Festival in Poland, which is also organised by Alter Art. So it is doubtful they will invite them again.

KoL - possible

Foo Fighters - possible

Radiohead - i don't think so

I think it is possible to get R.E.M. , Daft Punk and/or Soundgarden ;)

    • Aldous Harding absolutely brilliant in Dublin last night. Quirky as ever but sounded magnificent. Played everything off the new album I think, it all sounded fantastic. Band, including H Hawkline, were understated but excellent. Another one to look forward to.
    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
