Hi all.

I'm thinking about going to this with my new Polish lady. I have a few questions...

I heard they had a drum & bass tent last year. Are they going to have that again?

What's the food like? Will I struggle as a veggie?

Only Heineken? No vodka at a Polish festival?? Can you bring your own booze if you keep it in the camping area?

Thanks.

I love british sea power and chapel club.

i wasn't expecting much more to be excited about but this is great.

any ideas where the polish bands will play? any you recommend?

also, is tomorrow likely to be something bigger or smaller than today?

in my mind i imagine less bands, more popular.

Just saw on the news feed that Prince is headlining, and looked at the rest of the line up - Pulp, Strokes, MIA, SMD etc etc sounds amazing! Me and and my boyfriend are definitely coming, just wondered a few things as it'll be our first time:

We want to make a week holiday out of it, and we're thinking of staying in Gdansk - is it easy to get to and from the festival to and from there? I hear there are regular buses taking you to Gdynia station from the festival site, but as it starts at 4pm what time does it end of an evening? - Will regular trains be running from Gdynia to Gdansk at the end of each night? When I went to Benicassim a few years ago the festival started at 6pm and lasted until the early hours, and if you were to stay quite a bit away it would have been difficult to get back afterwards.

Help would be much appreciated!x

  • 3 weeks later...

Does anyone know if there are any lockers at either the festival site or on the campsite? This will be the first time that I have been to a festival and while my fella has been to festivals before, he hasn't been to open'er.

    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
    • 6music just shared a video of all of Fontaines DC singing along to the Cure last night. It'll be them. Booooo    Olivia might get up for I Love You though...
