I find it so funny that people feel a need to write things like 'Oasis are shit' or 'The song is shit'. Surely if you had the true Glastonbury spirit you would just go and read another forum post, the same as you would go and watch another stage if you didn't like the band that were playing. As my mum used to say, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

I imagine Beady Eye will be ok live in the sense that they will be better value live than on record. Not many new bands of that size have a frontman like Liam, for better or worse.

Unless they can come up with some music that doesn't sound like a rip off of Status Quo playing Michael Buble they're going to struggle to impress anyone.

Their album took a big thumbs up from Q this month with 4 stars, even suggested it was Liam's best album since WTSMG. I love Be Here Now so I think this removes that claim, however if it comes close to being better than Dig Out Your Soul and Dont Believe The Truth then that will be good enough for me.

I saw Oasis twice in 2009, Wembley and The Roundhouse, first time I came across them live and they were unbelievable. Very few moments have come close to the special Roundhouse gig (Liam's manperiod for those who remember Noel's blog post the following day.) Taking away the classics it will be very interesting to see how they are able to deliver, and many have enormous expectations. I hope they deliver as the world needs music like Oasis, even if it isn't Oasis.

Saying this I know they're not big Glasto fans so I cannot see them playing, unless it was Noel who disliked the festival!

Hardly a comparison, Beyonce is one of the hardest working individuals in pop music. Don't like her music, but I respect her for her honest work in a genre filled with over produced shit, she has put out countless top albums. Just stepping on to the music scene,(although being fronted by Liam) is a lot different than just stepping on to the "festival" scene.

Its exactly the same, why did she just step onto the music scene? cos she was in destinys child, she done exactly the same thing  I don't care much for Oasis or Beady Eye, but its not really a reason to criticize when we're so accepting of Beyonce... Anyway its really Oasis without Noel isn't it (forgive me if I am wrong but the line is Oasis minus Noel isn't it?)

Difference being that while Beyonce was the creative force behind Destiny's Child, Liam was ostensibly just the singer in Oasis. While Beady Eye may comprise most of the members of Oasis pretty much all of the creativity was from Noel. The rest of the band were little more than session musicians (as Beady Eye's material seems to be proving ;) )

Liam, Gem and Andy wrote songs on the last Oasis album. Liam has written about a dozen recorded Oasis songs. Andy Bell was 50% of the creative force behind Ride, who were bloody brilliant. Noel certanly was the original writer for Oasis but even he once said that he thought Liam could be a better songwriter than him eventually.

Beyonce hardly had a writing credit on anything until DC's third album and Michelle and Kelly were credited almost as often as she was. I remember seeing something on MTV where Beyonce as the "creative force" of DC meant she helped to choose the clothes and make them more revealing, and her Dad was the manager and she had the strongest voice - hardly comparable to Noel's shaping influence on Oasis, although very similar to Liam's initial influence on his band (i.e. almost entirely influential through image and distinctive vocal).

She has also never written a song by herself which might make the more cynical amongst us wonder whether she ever has much involvement at all, or whether it helps sell and market the artist to have some pretence of creativity. I have no clue whether this is the case but it could be.

If you look at the artists that we are debating about Beady Eye have an unreleased album, and Beyonce has 3 top selling albums. How can you possibly say that Beady Eye can be placed higher than Beyonce when they haven't released shit. People will go see them because of Liam but that doesn't make them more eligible than Beyonce. Note I am not a fan of Beyonce, Destiny's Child, Beady Eye, or Oasis

She has two on their first album (admittedly I thought she had more) and 10 on their second. Liam didn't contribute to any of Oasis' songwriting until their fourth album - indeed Noel only agreed to join the group if he was the sole songwriter.

Also Beyonce is largely credited with making the decision not to continue with the same production team and style after The Writing's On The Wall and take more musically creative control for the Survivor album.

The point being that Beyonce probably made a lot more contribution to Destiny's Child than the whole of Beady Eye made to Oasis.
