Rancid

Mike Davies has said a number of times that the lock up simply can't afford to book Rancid despite the massive demand for them.

So, what do we think about them being booked for the main stage or the NME? The latter is probably unlikely, but they'd be amazing anywhere for me.

They're one of those bands who turn up in people's predictions every year, and yet for whatever reason rarely actually appear. I can't see any reason they shouldn't be booked on the main stage somewhere Maybe the same sort of slot as NOFX?

They are one of those bands people keep predicting and don't turn but eventually when everyone stops talking about they do like Deftones & Weezer.

They won't headline the lockup cos they're too expensive, it would have to be the main, if the lockup could afford them they'd have played already

They could be on NME, they've had AFI on there in 2009.

Rancid are overdue an appearance at Reading/Leeds. That alone would make me buy a ticket.

Haven't seen them in years. Last time they announced a gig in Glasgow I'd already bought a ticket fot Hot Chip the same night. It was a heartbreaking dilema - go to Hot Chip with my lady friend or Rancid with my brother/mates. Opted for Hot Chip, which hindsight was the wrong decision.

Main stage in a similar slot to what NOFX had this year, maybe higher.

I remember them playing the main stage in 2001 I think it was... brilliant stuff, massive circle pit... saw them in Sheffield a couple of years ago and just wasn't the same, was a bit disappointed to be honest but think they'd be awesome headlining the lock up although reckon they'd probably be back on the main stage if they played Reading again
