Yeah it is! i've heard of getting the home kit ones but am a little worried i'd be wasting my money by doing it myself as i have a history of doing things wrong haha. found a spa kinda place near me that does a universal contour wrap for £60. which is a bit more than i'd like to spend but would be so worth it for that bikini body i'm after! definitely gunno have to book one i think now!

ok - i'm sat outside our monthly breakfast meeting at work watching them unload bacon sandwiches, cheese and mushroom muffins, pastries, flapjacks, juices etc. Am eating a pre-emptive bowl of porridge in an attempt to eat nothing but fruit once i get in there.

somebody tell me it's worth it?! :(

I've started doing the Atkins today. My mate started it last week and has 7lbs in a week. I know it's not the healthiest of diets but after trying on my summer clothes I'm desperate. I can't believe I don't fit into anything :( too skint to go on a shopping spree too. Hope it works.

I'm also trying to get in shape for Glasto. So far I have lost 6.5lbs in two weeks following Slimming World.

I would like to tone my legs up in time for Glasto, especially if the weather is as good as last year, I want legs to be a little proud of whilst I am wearing my shorts!

To be honest, even though the Atkins diet gets a lot of bad press, any diet is unhealthy if it's taken to extremes, abused or just doesn't agree with you. There's plenty of scientific argument to be made for a low carb diet and the bottom line is all bodies are unique so it's worth "shopping around" to find a plan that suits you. ;) I've known just as many people who have tried low fat diets and really struggled to get results with them as I have with low carb diets.Edit: In saying that, 7 lbs a week is a little too much too quickly, especially over a long period of time, it sounds like the diet is working for your friend, but they will need to eat a bit more to stay healthy if they're in it for the long term. ;) One of the ticky things about the atkins diet actually is the amount of food you need to eat to make it work safely, as protein has a substantially lower calorific value than fat or carbs.@abu hamster, wow! Go for it. :D

well done to all that are doing it the sensible way.... unfortunately ive left it to late... so am just doing my usual crash panic diet :) ... soft food diet is brill for this... you can eat anything that has the consistency of liquid or baby food...(no liquidising it yourself though...and no butter straight from tub :)) first discovered it when had some dental work done and had to.... loose atleast 3lb a week usually around 5 in the first

I am in a quandary though...

having been so good all week for the first time in a very very long time I am faced with a possible pub trip tonight and a definite 40th birthday soiree tomorrow that only has puddings/desserts to eat there and obviously piles of vino to consume!

I shall hit the gym AND swim in the day tomorrow for sure but not sure how to approach facing the calories that will put all my previous week's hard work to nothing.

cross trainer higher incline high resistance for a long period 40 min- an hour, dont worry about going to fast as its not a cardio workout your primarilylooking for though you will still get one.

2-3 times a week between now and glastonbury you'll be laughing.

if its just your legs you're really worry about using the arm things use the static handles

Thanks for the tip - I have a crosstrainer at home - it doesn't have an incline though, just a dial you turn to make the resistance harder - I'll turn it up to the max and see how I go! The arms could do with a tone too so I'll use the arm things!

Right I'm day 3 of Atkins. I'm in such a narky mood and my head hurts. Apparently that's normal though and should last for more than a day  I'm also .....ahem.... bunged up. I'm gonna stick it out for a little longer and see how it goes, I think.

Down to 10 st 5 lb 8 ounces. Although, that's largely due to me being pretty ill and not being able to eat much. Feeling better now so hoping to be able to eat and excercise properly now.

Ow ow oooowwwww!

15 minute crosstrainer hillclimb session (first one in about a year...and I stupidly didnt warm up!) = 24 hours later in a fair amount of pain in my calves and finding walking difficult. Doh! It felt good as I was doing it though. Probably not helped either by the dancing in the evening at the party I went to. Will try and get the energy to go to gym for a swim later but monster hangover isnt helping either. Heyho...suffering now for the eventual great outcome :D

I did Atkins years ago - you'll be awaiting the famous 'Atkins dump' then!! Don't do it for longer than 2 weeks - and then start to introduce normal food again! I lost a stone and a half in two weeks - but what goes down, must go back up - much much faster! Beware!

I did a Jillian Michaels DVD yesterday and my arms and legs are hurting now! I just hope the saying 'No Pain, No Gain' is actually true!

Weigh in day tmrw - fingers crossed for a loss!

Scales didn't budge this morning and gutted doesn't cover it!

I did more exercise this week too - and followed Slimming World to a T! I am hoping I get a better result next week, keep on keeping on and all that!

    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
    • f**king horrendous and seems they couldn’t run an egg and spoon race.  zero info and the crush waiting to get in to see Massive Attack was potentially disasterous. Zero info, no stewards at all and was told that the whole evening was cancelled, when we got to the exit. Because it rained. First time attendee and i’ve got onsay, i’m far from impressed. Scalping bastard taxis asking €37 plus for an €11 fare too. Wonderdul.
    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
