Refund on train tickets

I bought train tickets form www.crosscountrytrains.com last week and got them early this week but i've just been offered a lift there and back for £10 petrol which is a bargain and saves waiting around for shuttle buses etc.

Wondering if I can get a refund on the ticket? Only cost £21 like but don't want to pay for something i'm not going to use.

Anyone know if i can go into my local stations ticket office and get it refunded there even though i didn't buy it from there?

It's just your average orange and yellow train ticket! Any help would be welcomed

From what Im aware you cannot get a refund on your train ticket if you have it bought for a specific time. If it's an open ticket I think you can.

Someone might want to correct me here though as Im not 100%

Call them up and tell them you want to refund them and then they should give you an addres to send the tickets to.

Pretty sure you'll have to pay the cancellation fee either way, mate.
