Making life easier?

It's close enough to Leeds now that im thinking about sorting all the stuff i'm gunna need out...

I'll be getting the train from Liverpool into Leeds and then the shuttle bus to the festival itself.

Thinking about taking 2 crates of lager amongst a few more compact beverages but crates are quite heavy and bulky so i was wondering if anyone had any experiences with trolleys to make life a little bit easier?

I was looking at one of these as there only £10 on ebay but wondering if it's even worth the bother?

I'm feeling the same mate!

went to tesco on monday in managed to spend a fortune! however picked up a 3 man tent for £15, 65Litre bag and a camping chair and all my savoury food (as i'm going on holiday and wont be back till 5 hours before the festival) and 2x 24 crates of carlsberg also my wellies and it all came to just under £90.... which i didnt think was bad.

As for karting the boose around, i have been looking around for the same thing, managed to find a thing called a Sack Trolley, they use them in supermarkets/industrial use i think. they look pritty nifty, have a look around, eBay/Amazon seem to be the best shots. can pick a decent metal one up for around £25/30 which can cart 2 crates and disposable bbq's big bottles fresh water etc..you get my drift (all the heavy stuff)

Just came across this and seems like a bargin! Although if it continues to lash it down i'll probably swap the wheels for chunkier inflated ones to minimize getting bogged down in the mud!

Can be used either as a sack trolley or as a little box truck thing! Seems nifty.

Haven't been for to Leeds for a couple of years- but when I went you could get crates from the campsite supermarket for a reasonable price (IIRC). That not the case anymore?

last year they did sell 24 crates of gaymers pear cider and i think it was about £25

doubt there's gonna be as much or as cheap as it used to be though, as the main sponsor of the festival used to be carling

Wheels are the key, if it has small wheels they are not going to turn, at which point your nice trolly becomes stuck in the mud and you end up literally dragging 2 crates AND a trolly around. we discovered that last year when we had about 100kgs (4 peoples bags and tent) to push about, with only 2 of us on the scene. that was an absolutely horrendous experience. all the way from orange entrance to yellow too

if your getting a trolley, it has gotta have a steel frame, pneumatic tyres and bearings in the wheels. you also need tape or clingfilm to secure your stuff to it or else it will fall off.

anything else will just break and become a hinderance to you, and the people in the queue/path behind you. it absolutely does my head in when i see people at every festival with a pathetic looking trollry thats maybe ok for 10kg load over a smooth surface, but put 5-6 crates on it and a tent and take it over rough ground and it will last 5 minutes, FACT!

£15 'granny' shopping trolley from Argos I use - carries 3 crates just fine. If you can comfortably afford a sturdy, metal sack trolley then go for it, it'll be better and last longer - but if you can't and you only want it to carry a couple of crates anyway, then just get a cheap trolley, it does the job and will be a godsend.

our group got 2 sturdy B&Q trolleys before glasto last year, and most of them have been to 5 festivals since and still going strong. these were £15 each last year(bargain, should have got 5!), i got another this year and they are £30 so currently they are more expensive than the granny ones from argos but they are miles better and they last.

Today i saw a 100L bag in Go Outdoors which had a proper sturdy dragging handle and wheels on it similar to a suitcase. Twas only £20 knocked down from £65 i think. Seems like a good idea cos we thought we could use that for like sticking the tent and crates in to drag along whilst also wearing a smallish backpack for clothes etc. some raaaate bargains at said camping shop btw!
