The XX John Peel

I really wanted to go see these at the John Peel stage but for one thing or another didn't make it. Were they any good? (I'm hoping you will all say no!)

Was easily one of the best sets of the weekend for me. Florence (from Florence and the Machine) came on and did their version of You Got The Love together. Was mesmerising.

Thanks for that, makes me feel alot better. I also made the mistake of going to watch the football and not watching Slash!

Didn't see the John Peel set, but the decision to go and see them headline the Park instead of Gorillaz, was, I now realise, an excellent one.

They were fantastic. Different from the recorded versions in a subtle way and could really tell they appreciated it, got really into it.

And Slash was f**king fantastic as well, I also got on telly for that one

I'd have liked to have gone to the Park set, couple of my mates said it was great. Glad I avoided the JP set though, I was annoyed enough at being within earshot of that harridan Florence for the last couple of minutes of her Other Stage set without having her banshee wail inflicted on me during someone elses gig
