I always camp opposite the pyramid stage! It's good coz ur opposite the pyramid so u can wake up in the morning and watch Rolf Harris from your tent(or 2008 waking up to Kate Nash) :-( it doesn't seem to be to noisy wen u need to sleep and there's a cafe at the top of the field for cup of tea breakfast. If your coming from east car parks it's probably the closest good coz ur close to the car park toilets they are much cleaner

Bad thing is it's a long walk to the park stage and quite a distance to shangri la and stone circles..

I have to wait for the box office to open at 10am to get my ticket. Usualy I'm one of the first 200 or so into the site so I get fresh pickings of Pennards hill, just abouve the cross roads, opposite the park entrance.

So, what's the likelihood that ill get a space anywhere near there this year, going for an 11am Pennards arrival?

He is a summary I put together the other year, needs updating as the newer fields are not on it. Everywhere is a compromise on something, you can not be close to everything:

Wicket Ground / Lime Kiln Ground / Hitchin Hill Ground:

Good: Very little though traffic, close to bus station, great view of the rest of the site, very hilly in places, quiet after midnight.

Bad: Bloody long way to everything apart from John Peel stage, quiet after midnight.

Woodies / Lower Mead:

Good: Near main PGA and bus station, close to John Peel Stage and Dance Village.

Bad: A bit hilly, close to John Peel Stage and Dance Village, fairly quiet.

Dance Field (Oxlyers):

Good: Near PGD nice and flat, near to dance area with a view of other stage, close to old railway track for

access to most areas.

Bad: Possible flooding issues in extreme weather, a bit soulless, used as a cut though to The Park, full of gurners.

Paines Ground / Dairy Ground / South Park (now crew camping):

Good: Close to PGD, nice and flat, does not fill up quickly, close to The Park, easy access to old railway track (mostly)

Bad: long way from most things except The Park.

Park Home Ground/Pennards Hill:

Good: Close(ish) to PGD, close to The Park, Green Fields, Stone Circle and Shangri-La, party central?

Bad: Flooded in bilabial scale in 2005, (top of Pennards), drainage improved since, parts of it fill up

quickly, party central vibe not what it was.

William's (now crew camping) and Dragon field:

Good: Very little though traffic, Great vibe, close to Green Fields, Stone Circle and Shangri-La, 24 hour noise.

Bad: Full by midday Wednesday, very hilly, 24 hr noise.

Holts:

Good: Flat and close to everything, except the gates.

Bad: Masses of through traffic, cuts up very badly very quickly in a shower, in hot weather turns into dust

bowl.

Kidney Mead / Big Ground / Home Ground / Row Mead:

Good: Great view of Pyramid stage, next to the only porcelain you will find on site (flushing, yes flushing

toilets), close to only proper ATMs, and cider bus, has views of the Pyramid stage, is a little hilly very

unlikely to flood.

Bad: Fills up very quickly, very busy when major acts are playing worse when said acts are finishing, Stone

Circle, Green Fields and Late Night Areas are a long way away.

Cockmill meadow:

Good: You know, for kids.

Bad: Full of kids.

Hawkwell / Top Webbs Ash / Michael's Mead:

Good: Good view of Pyramid stage, close to ATMs, quiet after midnight.

Bad: Can fill up quickish, long way from everything apart from Pyramid stage.

    • I wonder if he's going to get into the States for the second match against England. Seems a bit weird having players missing for certain matches but not others as the world cup moves around.
    • Quite lucky as I’ve no interest in Halsey at all so I’ve got time for some food and drink before getting in there.   But yeah… thinking I’ll have to leave early to get a decent spot for Gorillaz
