if you look through the thread you will find no-one that has any issue with any that cant go for genuine reasons that is selling their ticket at near cost. once your talking about doubling the price you are encouraging touts, there will be more next year and more legitimate fans will not be able to go because of them

Ebay is an auction, you can't sell something for more than somebody is willing to pay for it. When are people going to realise this? It's not her fault that Glastonbury tickets are under-priced.

Sorry that was my assumption. The fact that you think touts should not be discouraged implied to me that you weren't too bothered about going to the festival.

If you do actually like going to the festival then why are you in favour of something that could prevent you from going?

Why are there so many people on this board in favour of higher priced tickets? Fair enough if you are a tout, but if you are punters surely you prefer the prices to stay lower.

The reason we are complaining is because we don't want to return to the days of 1000's of tickets on Ebay at double the price. Fair enough you're not that bothered about that but us Glastonbury fans are.

Just dont think they're worth bothering about. If thats how they make a living then good for them, if people want to keep filling their pockets then let them but dont come complaining about it.

So what you are saying then is.....

I dont mind if I cant go to some events because somebody has bought up lots of tickets, reducing the availability of the event to real fans, so they can then sell them on at a huge profit.

Interesting. Its gone from my watch list too. I'll find out if he's done a dodgy deal outside of ebay on a dodgy Buy In Now - he never uses Ebay so won't care about crap feedback, OR whether EBAY has had it removed. There are still loads of tix on there, so would be surprised if they removed just the one.

Nope... Just not getting my knickers in a twist about it

Haven't you said that the person TOUTING the tickets on eBay isn't doing anything wrong, and that you'd do the same in that situation?

I'm sure Michael Eavis - who has campaigned tirelessly to stop the touting of tickets - is delighted to have a fan like you.

Anyone who cares about the festival should look upon anyone touting with the disdain they deserve.

Isnt this all getting a bit out of hand...

Im not condining touts in any way but there is about 20 tickets on ebay so its not exactly a massive shift towards the mass touting days of the late 90's, early 00's is it. I would say its pretty reasonable that 20 people out of what...140,000 genuinely cant go and are shifting their tickets on. In fact its a tiny amount!

Its not a number thats going to frighten GF, in fact its not a number I would guess that they even give a shite about - its not really a number that should frighten fans of the festival either.

yeah, survival of the fittest, that's the spirit, love it...

Erm except, when the real professionals get on the case with the manpower and technology to buy up 10s of thousands at a time, stopping even the most determined of the opportunistic touts/real fans, we'll all be forking out double the price regardless.

Surely the registration system has stopped the touts buying up vast amount of tickets. I dont know the personal circumstances of the ebay sellers so im not going to call them scum. If they bought tickets with the intention of going and through no fault of their own cannot go, why shouldnt they be able to off load them. If I had to get rid of mine (not that i ever would) £190 would not cover what I have spent so far.

Condemning people without any information is hardly the glasto spirit is it.

The reason people are getting confident about selling them on. is because the checks on the gates are so slack.

Im sure as soon as GF see it as a problem they will take measures against it again. Doesnt look like its bothering them at the minute. If they arent worrying I wouldnt worry either :)
