I know that my wife doesn't count as a stranger in the street but I have been stalking her with Glastonbury since when I got to know her. I get the message though that I should control myself a little bit more because her temper is getting the better of her and she will soon apply for an arm's permit.

I was in a bookshop today that I hadnt been to for over 5 months and the counter assistant asked " dont you go to Glastonbury?". I am now worried that I bore every single person about this and dont even realise!

I went on a presentation course and did not realise that I had to prepare a presentation at the end, had nothing prepared so just threw one together about Glastonbury. Fantastic, had a captive audience and they loved it! some said it was the best one out of the 14 that we had to sit through! Result !!

I work as a moderator on a bingo site, I am always banging on to the players about Glastonbury, so far round one who went last year and could not get a ticket for this year, and another player who is going this year!

I'm fast approaching the obsessive stage! I drove past a field full of cows today and was overcome with excitement about Glasto...and nearly got kicked out of the car for launching into a full on Glastobation binge :P

It's near constantly on my mind cos I'm just soooo excited! :P 25 days!

I guess i'm quite lucky in the Glastobating area, both my partner (Mr Pilton) and my daughter (Lady Glastonbury) are all as excited as me. LG, now lives and works in London and we have daily Glasto telephone chats, then most nights Mr Pilton and I Glastobate. We have three other younger children that, however have not had the wonder of Glasto, so we have lots of rolling of the eyes when Glastonbury comes up :P , they will learn once they have been :P

I've not really thought about Glastonbury much to be honest. I've been so caught up with finding a job, and sorting out moving, and exams, and dissertation, and personal life that glastonbury has crept out of nowhere. But that's been nice, I hate waiting for things to come

Well now you're thinking about it, so that's good. I can't wait, so excited. Talk about it all the time and am obsessed with tents, airbebs, trolleys etc.

People think i'm sad, but they've never been. In less than 4 weeks we'll be there :P

So I've been lurking for a while but tonight I've drunk enough wine to convince myself to register.

This will be my first Glastonbury. I've been going to various festivals since I was 17, I'm now 43.

I'm obsessed with it. I read EVERYTHING I can find about it. I talk to everyone I know about it. I drop it into conversations whenever the opportunity arises. Random people I work with have suddenly started talking to me about it.

All in all. I'm a little bit excited. More than is sensible for a man of my age.

There is some thing about Glasto, once you have been there its like you have joined a fraternity. You become a member of a massive group of people who have shared the experience. Its difficult to put it in words or to explane what is so special about this place.

You get worked up to get your tickets, then the to bye your ticket. Receiving the ticket in the letterbox and planing your transportation. The whole thing takes near to a years stretch so no matter every one keeps going on about it. Its a years cycle. And once the year is over you need to start getting orgineised for the next one.

I am quite aware of the levels of driving my colleagues to distraction with not being able to go without talking about it or finding something that will bring the conversation around to the subject every 5 bloomin minutes. They get it anyway...luckily.

It pisses me off tbh how it is so difficult NOT to talk about it. 15 years since going to my first one and visit 11 this year...there are few bands on the radio stations we listen to who havnt played there before or is playing this year and then another linked/relevant story starts!

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
