Well, i know this may be a bit controversial (and gay, but as i am a homo then thats fitting) but i think that they should ask Kylie to fill Bono's slot! She had to unfortunately cancel due to ilness, so she should feel Bono's pain, and she has been quoted as sayin that she would like to appear at a uk festival this year in the papers recently! PERFECT!!! Now get it dealt with Mr Eavis!!!!

Prince is by far the best option and with him being in Europe (apparently - there is still NO official announcement from Prince that he is doing the three European shows between 4th-10th July).

I still cannot see it, but if he does - I'll be beyond excited.

He's (again apparently) signed up to Roskilde so that kind of goes totally against the anti-recording / photo's policy of Prince - there is no way he can monitor it at a festival.

Everyone talking of Bowie and Led Zep... IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN!! They would have been booked in a flash, if they could play, for the original line up.

It's gonna be:

Dizzee Rascal

Flaming lips

Faithless

Coldplay

Radiohead or

Chemical bros.

Thats my guess for order of likelyness too.

RAGE RAGE RAGE!!!!

they are playing a couple of weeks so they will be nice and warmed up, hopefully they won't have some shitty exclusivity clause in their contract with download. I think if Micheal Eveis is in in charge then they would book them but Emily has rubbish generic pop, x factor taste so she will want Kylie :-(

Please god not coldplay, wtf have they produced of merit recently (or ever).

faithless would be good headliners but chemical bros would better.

I think you'll strggle to find many people that would not want to see rage, the same could not be said of kylie, bowie, coldplay etc...

Surely the ideas of pushing everyone up one or moving someone from another day/stage and then getting someone new in towards the bottom of the line up is a bit of a cop-out considering that U2 were probably the highest paid artist at the festival.

We pay the money for tickets to fund the lineup - basically what a festival is, is a huge number of people giving a huge amount of money to one person who then uses that money to try to book a lot of artists to play - it is the expectation of the paying people that most (as much as is possible) of their money is used to book artists. As we assume that the money that was going to be paid to u2 was within the budget for booking artists surely they should try their best to re-use that money to book another big act - even if they want to move Faithless to be the friday headliner - they've not really got any excuses to find a new artist to fill Faithless slot - you could probably get 2 second headliners for the money they were going to pay U2 so I don't think it would be too much of an ask for them to use part of that money to get one more quality act in towards the top of the lineup.

    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
