Higgins won the first two frames of the session but Davis won the next two to go in 8-4 ahead at the mid-session.

On an unrelated note, my productivity at work has reached a new low.

Wow---what about this Specky Four Eyes Gould eh?

I haven`t enjoyed watching a player so much in ages. Has played some marvellous stuff..a joy to watch.

Could go far. (well past the next round anyway)

Top stuff from him. Deserved his early lead and then just let it flow like he was practicing in his club.

Fuinny to see how he's not used to the TV stages by having his case with him at the end.

Willie Thorn is quite professional but there is a notable tinge of excitement when Higgins misses a ball or Davis does something well

O LORDY MAMA... i`ve got nippsies all squashed around the entrance to my mud garden.

I cannot believe that game of snooker. Always easy to say ---"That is the best match you will see " etc.

But theres no doubt about it... that was one of the best performances I`ve ever seen..and i been watching snooker for 40 yrs.

Sometimes the quality wasn`t the highest but for sheer drama and bottle etc etc... it was marveloous.

I`m f**ked just watching it!

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
