Anyone else have a funny feeling that this vote won't have made any difference to the supports?

I reckon Muse would be high up there in the votes, would be sweet if they supported! Not gonna happen though realistically..

I may be wrong, but I have a feeling that the vote may just have been a way for the organisers to find out what type of bands people would like to support and, again I might be wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me if the 'winners' turned out to be someone like Gallows (in other words, someone they already have booked to support but that some people have also voted for) :P

I think they haven't announced yet because they havent got everything set in stone.

Wethere or not the vote was a sham they will have to wait until all bands are confirmed before placing them into order of appearance.

I'm hoping that there will be a few collabarations throughout the day.

IF the vote was real they may still be working down the list to get bands to appear if possible.

There won't be much gain for bands out of this, in monetary value. There will be a bit of publicity for them though.

For bigger bands to play it will depend on if they like RATM, or bought into the idea of the rage factor. I personally cant see any big bands playing.

Although there are a few medium size bands who have said that they would like to appear on the bill. I'm sure this will be out of being fans of RATM.

Still this very soon announcment is turning into a not so soon announcement........

I'm going for sometime after the middle of next week - especially if the line up is similar to the one suggested in this forum last week - announcing a upcoming free gig is maybe not the best business move for a band currently touring the UK! :P

The 'vote' will probably be a complete sham, they usually always are in the music industry. The vote said 'if they are available to play', which means 'we will pick who we like'.

Take the Kerrang awards for example, a lot of the 'winners' fly over from the states for the event in London, booking plane tickets and hotels in advance. They wouldn't do that unless there was some incentive of media exposure, i.e. a an award.

The fan vote will be interesting indeed. I tried to be fairly realistic in voting for bands who I thought would be likely to play if asked and who would be around the UK/Europe at the time. But I reckon most people probably voted for their 3 favourite bands etc...

Really hoping Jane's get confirmed, when there was that announcement a few weeks back I got really excited and now Gallows and Gogol are confirmed I'm even more hopeful!

    • It was never going to be great was it, there is comments of Mickey Mouse all over socials lol which is very similar to Glastonbury.  Someone I know from RIP watched Welcome to the Jungle and left and they went saying they've got to see GNR. It was the only day not to see out as well.
    • I decided to goto bed early for the Aussie game rather than stay up for Scotland. I don't regret my decision, I also love the complete over reaction during the world cup when a player has 1 good game, that Watford winger is now everyones dream signing. Its also funny when clubs get into the hype and end up overpaying for someone who then does nothing in the prem.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
