Where's the Hype

Seems to be less excitement this year regarding the big announcement. Last couple of years I seem to remember loads of rumours flying about, people posting about it all over facebook etc..

However, not much is going on this year it seems, Just been on bbc and radio 1 website and can't see any mentions.

What do you think?

I'm personally not that excited either, seems we already know who's headlining! Am I just being miserable!? lol

i cant remember how certain we are normally of the acts that are playing.....a year is a long time ago when it comes to my memory...

maybe there is no hype because the line up is not expected to be that good.

less hype....means less demand for tickets hopefully....easier to get them i aint complaining.

or maybe it will hit when people start to get home from work 5 onwards.....ha! getting myself excited now!

I will be happy if the headliners turn out to be right (although arcade fire??)

i spose the lack of hype is coming from the certainty of the headliners, i was so much more happy with libs being special guestes and not headliners if im honest, i was hoping to see them then QOTSA in the tent.

That was getting me really hyped up but since then it seems that arcade fire are in the tent an libs are main headliners, this creates no uncertainty on the headliners, just on wether we will get a band of simialr size co headlining.

Eminem or Gorillaz is likely, thats if were getting a Co-Headliner, or just a massive sub!

I wasn't an arcade fire fan, and didnt really know who they were, i didnt see them sub in 07, but it seems alot of people are and having seen their performance in 07 on youtube, they look worthy enough headliners to me! Especially when you consider Franz Ferdinand have!

Ive never watched all 3 headliners in a single year anyway! So It doesn't bother me that much, there are bound to be bands I want to see! Plus i'd go just for blink if I had to!!

I'd be excited if Soundgarden or Blur were a possibility, but since I have no real interest in the likely headliners I'm happy to sit back and see if there are any gems in the tent or lower down the bill.

I don't know where the OP is but i am f**king well up for this announcement, moreso than the other 2 years i've been. This one is way more of a surprise Hoping for Soundgarden, The Libertines, Dinosaur Jr. and Weezer....

The Guardian, Daily Star and MTV have all stated this to be the case, Kesse told us this was the case a few weeks ago, and neil appears to be wrong on a few fronts this year, so yenno when all fingers point one way.

GnR have the name value, and have a recent record to back them up, that's why i'm more on board and understanding with them being named as headlining. it makes miles more sense to me.

the chances of Guns n roses and libertines pissing people off at the festival must be quite high...

doherty being imprisoned a few weeks before therefore missing the festival has got to be likely

aswell as one person throwing a bottle landing on stage next to Axl who stops the gig and then gets a translator to come on stage to tell us to behave
