Alot of people have said certain acts cant be playing cause theyre playing V. Is there something in the contract that means they cant play both?

And is it only for headliners or everyone?

Or is it just cause R/L like exclusive acts?

There are a few acts that have been announced for V that id like to see!

Kasabian, Kooks, Courteeners, Florence and the machine (amazing last year), Doves...

The way I understand it is that it writtn into be V festival contract for almost every band

beause the two fests are so close together. I could be wrong but even if it's not in the

contract only a few tiny bands in the last few years have played both!

An act who plays Reading and Leeds won't play V and vise-versa, its been this way since 2005.

The only way around it is

if an act plays the other festival under a different name or unannounced like Kaiser Cheifs did in 2008

if an act pulls out last minute and they're allowed to play by the other festival

if an act gets booked at V in a dance tent and not one of the main stages, theres been a few Reading acts played V over the years by doing this The Whip and Foals are two that come to mind

There are a few bands each year at V i wouldn't mind seeing this year being Kasabian, Kooks and Editors and i'd like to see the prodigy again. But i'd never go and a prime example of why is... Cheryl Coles playing this year. :P

However the thought of going to V festival instead of reading never crossed my mind due to the fact that I know that even if I dont love the lineup as much as other years i will still have a better time at reading than at V. The atmosphere, relaxing with friends, discovering new bands and generally having a good time never change year in year out.

    • Had a dig at what splits might look like (for Leeds):   Fri -    Main - Chase and Status / Florence / Role Model / Blossoms (SG) / The K's / Arthur Hill / Dylan John Thomas / Westside Cowboy / The Clause   New Stage - Kneecap / Kettama / Duke Dumont / Holly Humberstone / Paris Paloma / December 10 / Violet Grohl / Alex Spencer / Kilu   Sat -    Main - Charli XCX / Fontaines / Skepta / Geese / Skye Newman / Keo / Overpass / Rose Gray / Unpeople   New Stage - Declan McKenna / James Marriott / DJ EJ / Florence Road / Clementine Douglas / Cardinals / Bleech 9:3 / Vilanelle / Day We Ran    Sun -    Main - Dave / Raye / Sombr / ??? (Gunna at Reading) / Kingfishr / Nine Vicious / Maisie Peters / Slayyyter / Clara La San   New Stage - Jade / Josh Baker / Rossi / Absolutely / Speed / Gurriers / Basht / Cruz Beckham & the Breakers / Ruby Roberts    I'm guessing alongside the Warehouse there's likely going to be another stage as there's a number of smaller acts not included in those two stages above (possibly just BBC Intro)
    • but you could say that for many fortunately some are prepared to drop
    • But it’s still an hour to go and the line grows every minute
    • Means there's still time to get there as 1k would be only one third full.
