Just bought this new mat and a little pillow to go with it. Getting rid of the big wobbly airbed to travel a bit lighter this year. The sleeping mat fits in one of the side pockets, but the tent takes up virtually all of the space inside the rucksack. Buying a new one would probably work out as expensive as just checking another bag in - an option definitely, but trying to cut a few corners. Thanks for reply! Thanks a million for that offer, that is very kind of you! I should be fine though, will just be a tight squeeze in regards to bringing extra stuff. A few members of our group live in London and are driving so I'll probably just ask one of them to pick me up a chair!

If politics was just about doing what the voters want, we could just have a series of referendums which the government\civil service enact. Or we could have weekly votes at the end of Britain's Got Talent. I can remember when parties used to make a case for the policies they believed in rather than just tailoring their policies to what they think the public wants. But they don't even do that consistently. Poll after poll shows that the majority believe Brexit was a mistake and there is increasing support for rejoining, but labour won't even mention the B word for fear of annoying Brian Bigot of Burnley or Ruby Racist of Redcar.

All this. I know why they did it but the whole ruling out tax rises thing is really frustrating, they've really tied their hands with that, but if they hadn't tories would have milked it to the cows came home. I think of all of those main taxes income taxes is the one that could go up...maybe raise the bands but increase the rates...doesn't have to be forever especially if they get the economy growing, but just some needed cash to inject into struggling public services. So, will likely be other taxes that will be going up, cgt etc...but also might have to be some spending cuts in some places.
