Amazing advert for the safety of F1 cars... I had my heart in my mouth... So happy to see him walk away...

Good result for Hamilton even after the silly incident with the safety car... I think Alonso is totally losing the plot...

REALLY looking forward to going to the British GP :)

What happened to the Hamilton haters ? I told you Hamilton would get on top of Button...

Alonso beginning to look way out of his depth IMO - he won his championships in by far the fastest car and with a shockingly poor team-mate. Now he's involved in a battle with other world class drivers in cars without holding a pace advantage, he's beginning to be found out as nothing special.

He's the new Villenueve. Whilst Hamilton and Vettel remain in the sport, I can't see him winning another championship, and as long as he keeps up this petulance, he's in danger of making himself unemployable if he falls out of favour with Ferrari.

You didn't say that Hamilton would get on top of Button. You intimated that he'd crush him into the ground. Which clearly isn't the case, is it?

You did go that far. My position was always that Hamilton would beat Button, but it wouldn't be by miles. Which it hasn't.

Hamilton seems to have sorted himself out a fair bit over the last few races I've seen. Lot less dangerous. That was all I was really concerned about. Oh, that and Johhny Come Latelies telling me what a genius he is.

I don't think we'll ever agree on matters as they stand. All that remains is for me to say have a good week-end. I'm really looking forward to seeing the new track layout and am hoping for a good performance by McLaren too. I find my sympathies towards the Ferrari team haven't been so low since the lows of the Schumi era.

You also have to have figured out every single camera. If it is in HD for a while and then you cut to a car and it is not HD it will be a real let down for the viewer. Technologically it is really hard and people don't appreciate how difficult it is. They will figure it out and when they do they will bring it to our house.

If both IRL and NASCAR can be shown in HD, there is no reason why F1 can't, other than a lack of wil.l As you say the on-car shots are a lower quality anyway.

That article mentions vibrations in the Monaco tunnel making the discs in the cameras skip frames - that seems to be the main thing that is a problem, and that's a very rare situation during the year.

And as for the audience issue, its a chicken and egg situation; people aren't going to buy HD boxes if there's no content. There are a lot of areas getting freeview-HD between now & March 2011, but no events after the World Cup that you would expect a lot of people to get new boxes for.

edit; Btw, there's some quality Mansell British GP action on the red button at the moment :)

      Wasn't just me who thought it was either oversold or inadequately setup for the event then? For Pride, over the weekend, where there's also acts in the large blue marquee that was to the right of the "arena" (for want of a better term), it's probably much better as people are dispersed more. Thought the band were great, as was Nick, though he was clearly struggling with his voice at times.

      I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳

      sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
