glastonbury voulenteer work needed

Hi everyone! wonder if there is anyone out there who can help, my best friend and I have been working at the festival for the last 5 years and voulenteering for the last 2(which we loved) this year we've just been told there is'nt space for us.......gutted no ticket ...no work! we've registered for returned tickets but hey it's a long shot and we're not counting on it. The work we did was stewarding 3 8 hour shifts outside the festival and working for the p.t.a at the crosscolme school near the festival and we got our ticket in return ( random i know considering we're from glasgow) If there is anyone out there who has a stall and needs any help we will work for free, or can get us involved in anythin else we're very reliable and would give you some sort of deposit if needed (so you know we wont just f**k off as soon as we're in!) we love the festival and would be devistated if we never got to go this year so please get back to me if anyone has a little extra festival spirit to go round thanks!!! xx

i know that last year there was a group called 'traffice to cash' who paid people to sit in car parks from wednesday onwards stewarding and they got paid quite well.

the downside was that the shifts were 12 hours and they had to do their wed and thur shifts and sleep in a compound until they could get there ticket/wristband on friday. bit of a slog but a way to get in at least

Have you actually checked the Glasto website under the jobs section?

That would of been my first point of call tbh.

Hi Lou,

My daughter has worked at Glastonbury (& a few other festivals too). She signs up with DC Site Services (http://www.dcsiteservices.com/) or Oxfam (http://www.oxfam.org.uk/get_involved/stewa...ury_review.html). I'm not sure if either of them have any vacancies this year, but they're certainly worth a try. I hope this helps.

Thanks checked out the oxfam site they dont do applications till mid march will keep my eye on their site, checked out dc sites too, still hoping for a returned ticket so will wait till they go on sale but thats definately an option cheers for the advice!

Here is a short list { some links you have seen before } that you may find useful.

I have been a volunteer with the Workers Beer Company { who run the main bars at Glasto } for the past twenty years and I am now a team Organiser and their bid deadline for the whole year is this Sunday 28 th of February { so anyone reading this who is already in a WBC Team should contact your organiser pronto as from Monday 1 st of March no organiser can change their annual bids } so that option will not be available to you but if you keep checking the links below you may be able to put your name down.

As you will have discovered by now Oxfam has two dates - general recruitment is not to late March 2010

so your going to have to be quick off the block .
