This has probably been covered before... but I heard somewhere (probably on 6 music) that Seasick basically all but confirmed he would play this year.

I remember seeing him on the Pyramid in 2008, and I was wondering if he is playing would he do the same early afternoon slot he did then or, seeing as he is a bit more recognised now, work his way up the billing? I really enjoyed his set and thought it fit in perfectly with the time of day, but it would have been nice for him to been on a little longer...

AWESOME news if true - if you remember exactly where and have a link, could you share it? Not that I'm doubting you!

I love this guy.

I don't know if you use Facebook, but I'm a 'fan' of his on there, and someone has posted a clip of him turning up to an open mic night in a random pub in London and playing a song. It's brilliant.

As for the bill - he played several times in 2008 including headlining the Acoustic Tent. Same again would be great.

Incidentally did you read the NME review of I Started Out With Nothing...? Utter balls mate. That magazine is only useful in the longdrops if you get my drift

SeaSick Steve was relatively unknown when I saw him at Glastonbury 2008. Now he has been on the Brits :P I loved his little video about getting to Glastonbury -think it is part of the Glastonbury Movie (2006) or was part of the Glastonbury highlights on TV...

From Steve's Facebook page:

For all those that have been asking, we'll hopefully soon be announcing summer festivals in the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, and possibly more! I can't confirm anything yet, but we're working hard and have a LOT of offers on the table. If all goes to plan, Seasick Steve will be playing at least one European festival every weekend throughout the summer! :P

Ive seen Steve twice in the past two years, once at the 02 Academy in Bristol and the same venue in Birmingham, both gigs ruined by selfish people who talked through his set, if he is at Glasto this year then fingers crossed he gets a littl more respect for his great work on three strings!

    • There’s a few in there which could go either way or I’m not bothered if I miss but think that’s now be pretty set.  Few rubbish clashes like Kasabian/Loyle plus Reytons/Pixies/CMAT but I’ll head with the lads to the most popular one.   (And yes no Byrne or Twigs, just can’t into either)
    • I saw somewhere they were advertising Lewis' day as him live on Glagow Green and only mentioned Amy Mcdonald and CMAT as support, 0 mention of the festival  I completely agree this will probably be the last one which is a shame because the first 2 seemed so promising and now its turned into middle of the road rubbish with acts you can see everywhere else  Anyone know if the BBC are covering it next week as it'll be fascinating to see how full (or empty) it is
    • Did anyone catch Viagra Boys last night? A rollicking good set, with a little more free jazz than I expected.   if you’re up early, Walabi is doing a super job in the Cupra Pulse. There till six.

    • They really dropped a bollock on their lineup this year. They went with Richard Ashcroft because he did well as Oasis support - But realistically, you're not getting 50k people in a field to hear the 4 or 5 songs they know at like £70+ a ticket. Can't get my head around the Kasabian booking, either. Finsbury Park was a bold move for them, and yes it sold out, but I think you're more likely to see people make the journey to London if they want to see them rather than Glasgow. A second similar capacity show was always going to be a big ask for them.
