Finsbury Park is only about a 10 minute walk from Arsenal's ground....there are plenty of pubs and bars in the area.

There is a KFC, Tesco, Subway + various chip shops/burger bars by the station.

Pubs within a 5 min walking distance of Finsbury Park tube station include, 12 Pins, Gaslight, Blackstock, Worlds End, Faultering Fullback and The Railway.

Shedloads of pubs in walking distance - the further you get from the tube either north or south, the nicer they are...

Food-wise, head up Stroud Green Road for a couple good pizza places, a couple good turkish places and pubs that serve thai food.

Head down Blackstock Road for... a couple pizza places, a couple good meditteranean/turkish places, a nice sardinian restaurant and pubs that serve thai food.

there're plenty of kebab/cheap pizza/burger type places about...

Cheers mate, all vegi for me but the Thai place sounds good for me or maybe a pizza. don't know waht sardinian foods like but I'd give it a shot anyway.

Travelling down either friday or saturday from glasgow and staying in southend and travelling through for the gig. Think I'll have to stay in London Sunday, experience tells me getting back would be a no go.

Any recommendations from anybody for a hotel not too far, dodgy or filfthy for around about £100-120 quid for a twin would be sweet.

cheers

Can look on line but anyone who's ever done that kinda knows how that can turn out sometimes.

Veggie-wise can strongly recommend Petek on Stroud Green Road (road running north from Finsbury park tube), cracking mezzes (my gf is veggie), otherwise pubs or pizza I'd say. (Papagones for pizza on SG Road is good too).

Beware all hotels right next to finsbury park station, a couple charge by the hour (make of THAT what you will :P ), a large number are used by the local council for families when they can't find them accommodation so aren't really set up for "normal" hotel trade and are quite noisy. I would do as others have posted and stay more central and tube in-and-out. Kings Cross or Euston would be ideal as they're only a couple stops on the victoria line (about 10mins) away.

I never thought my local knowledge would actually be of any use, but there you go!

so then, gallows and the king blues both have 'big announcements' today. they could both fit in i reckon. if we get those two plus cypress hill i'll shit a chicken.

update: actually ignore this. gallows announcement was sonisphere and the king blues are supporting the specials.

    • Hezbollah rejected it. Really Israel should get the f**k out, and US and others should support the Lebanese govt in defeating Hezbollah.
