when will the best british band headline......

I have seen kasabian at glastonbury twice now, 2009 and 2007. Both times they have played before the headline act and both times they have totally blew them away. In 2007 they played before the artic monkeys but the crowd were still singing kasabian songs through their set! Last year in my opinion they were the best act and even blew away The boss aka bruce springsteen. I think after their last album and all the accolades that they have recieved that surely sooner rather that later they will headline. Doesnt look like it will be this year thou, muse look like they have got that job.

It won't happen. Due to the lack of personality, charisma and wit of the front man means that they will never make the step up. They're a very, very good band and highly enjoyable live (I saw them three times last year) but they're just lacking in a little something.

Seriously though, they are not the best british band, nor are The Beatles, Oasis, Blur, The Smiths, any big group. It's all about opinion really. For every person that adores a band there are many people who hate them, even The Beatles.

I was stood in a terrible position though. I think it would have been better if I was more nearer the front, but I couldn't move from where I was standing because the crowd to see them was so massive. I swear they got a bigger crowd then Springsteen.

watched them last year waiting for springsteen, went with an open mind, qas in the barrier, good position, good view, same couldn't be aid about the band though, i really tried to enjoy it, in the end i did though as i started reading the paper which saved the day

I'm just judging it by the fact that it was easyer to get down the front for The Boss then it was for Kasabian. I could barely move because the crowds for Kasabian was so big! I'm not hatin' on Springsteen one bit . Even though I did find him prettey boring, it got better when we moved nearer to the front

Part of the reason for that will have been the Springsteen fans at the front guarding the space like *insert really territorial creature*. That was the closest I have seen to there being a decent sized incident at Glasto with fans getting really pissed off at each other for either walking in front or conversely blocking the way.

Yeh Springsteen fans do come across as quite snobby I think.

He was good though, but not decent enough. So far in the two years I have been I havn't been treated to one decent Pyramid Headliner (Doves were awesome on the Friday). But I'm hoping that Stevie Wonder and U2 will give me the pleasure of seeing a decent Pyramid headliner. I reckon U2 are gonna really pull it off.

Who does everyone think is the best then. I honestly think their new album (west ryder) is absoloute quality. With Oasis now gone i think kasabian are the band to fill their shoes and bring that edge to rock n roll.
