perhaps you didn't realize this had been done before w/ disastrous results. Muse fans in position, slagging off Morrissey beforehand, etc...

can't see Morrissey ever at Glasto again.

Don't underestimate how influential The Smiths have been. If they never existed the whole face of music would be completely different today IMO.

Muse even covered Please Please Please, Let Me Get What I Want, didn't they? That's a sign that they were influenced by The Smiths if ever there was one.

LOL. Just listen to the Bellamy and Morrissey's voices. Bellamy is blatantly influenced by Mozza. If anything, Bellamy's voice is more "whiny", as you would say.

If you really believe that then you're in denial and there's no point in carrying on the debate. I think it's blatantly obvious that The Smiths were a big influence for Muse though, right down to Bellamy's voice and the atmospheric melodies.

I just can't see it to be honest. If Muse's act involved Daffodils surely it would see hundreds of the damn things fired out of cannons over the watching audience!

From what I understand from those who were there, his shows at the O2 last year (or was it the year before?) were absolutely buzzing. I am expecting a blinder of a set. Two hours of feel good, shake your thang, funky love-in good times.

I fully expect Muse to be brilliant (because i love The Smiths and Muse are virtually a Smiths tribute band....j/k). Glasto is the sort of environment they thrive in. I think U2 should be fine too, i'm just not sure about Stevie. I hope he's amazing but i just can't imagine him doing a big festival gig with the type of sound he has.

I find his lyrics dull. But then I'm naturally comparing them to Bob Dylan's. Sorry about that. And his Bobness lyrics make everyone else's look a bit simple, to be honest. Mozza's come over all kitchen sink, working class, moany. Well from the songs that I know anyway.
