MUSE....

Neither U2 nor Muse are crap.... they are just not to anyone's taste.

If you can't articulate why you don't like a band than just keep your mouth shut, as the word crap is pretty meaningless.

The beauty of Glastonbury is that there is so much too see; If you don't like a headliner on the Pyramid, go and see something else on another stage. But be open also to the fact that you might actually be wrong!!!

Muse = overated 'prog-dad-rock' dirge. The music is overblown and the audible asthmatic inhaling of the singer before each line is as grating as fingenails down a blackboard.

Suffice it to say, if they do play (and I'm still hoping they don't), I wont be subjecting my ears to it.

some ppl on here have been to muse gigs and are honest enough to say that it was crap and they aint going to watch them again

U2 are headlining and there are 100's of posts with ppl saying U2 are crap and they aint going to watch them, whats the difference.?

i think muse are crap, i dont understand the hype and why everyone is so excited and wants it that much, is all i said

I'm not going to start on the grammar, but starting a sentence with "i no understand..." is never good.

You're right lots of bands could "have a far bigger playlist" i'm guessing by that you mean they have a bigger back catalogue? Muse, I think, have 6 albums more than a lot of recent headlining bands, Arctic Monkeys, Kings Of Leon etc and have more albums than a lot of legendary acts, The Smiths, Pixies etc. It's not quantity, it's quality and Muse are well known as a good live band.

P.S there are plenty of Muse threads, i'm not sure your opinions needed their own.

What is the big deal with muse playing/headlining....?

i no understand the hype and why so many people want them there

surely there are a 100 bands who could take the slot and have a far bigger playlist

for the record:

i dont like muse, i dont understand why so many ppl do

they sound just like any other modern indie group, nowt special

if they play i will be somewhere else

and if they headline it will be a waste of a slot

thank you

I actually cant wait to see them. Wouldnt advise going unless you're close to the front. Stadium gigs and being seated at Muse are a complete no-no ( I think along with all bands)

Ive seen these lads twice already and Im going to wembley next year to see them after Glasto.. Bellamy is a complete dick, yet he's is insanely awesome.

In my opinion, of the several times I have seen muse they have always been a fantastic live band...I seen them about a week after springsteen while doing a tour...and they where phenominal for a band I had not heard much about before I seen them...Technically beautifully brilliant, and do have the tunes for a good crowd...

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
