When did the rumours of Bruce, Blur and Young start last year?

Well we already have rumors for The Rolling Stones and PULP but yes, some credible news is needed. I know it is sold out, so they don't need to announce names to entice people to buy tickets, but it would be nice if they threw us some kind of bone.

I think if Pulp does reunite, then they would not be officially announced for Glasto until after their other shows were announced and tickets sold.

being announced is one thing. Being certain they're headlining long before that announcement is another.

This website is usually on the money every year in being first to tell you who is headlining long before any announcement.

I remember it as a cold friday evening too. Just got back in from going out with mates, 11 oclock, checked on here like I always do after a night on the toon, the whole site was going absolutely mental. I couldn't actually believe it.

Yeah, not sure about the others, but Springsteen was early. People were noticing a Glastonbury shaped hole in his touring scheduale and stuff.

Springsteen first came up here as happening, long before his tour was announced. Springsteen came up here from info passed to eFestivals which enabled eFestivals to tell the world first who was headlining, as happens most years. ;)

This is the first news article from eFests which says that all 3 of the headliners were rumoured but not 100% definate:

here!

it says 12th of Dec, so i guess the rumours started just before that ;)

That article came along a while after I first started posting about Springsteen & Blur defo playing (there's posts of mine from 1st Dec, if not earlier - I have a feeling some were deleted, see below).

The delay was due to two different reasons - firstly, I was got at by someone at Glasto to remove some of what I'd posted (and was happy to oblige, not wanting to cause the fest problems), and secondly, I'd held back about those two names while trying to get confirmation on the third.

The article was couched in those "might not play" terms because while I had full confidence in my source, it wasn't official information and the deals weren't yet signed and sealed (and so it was possible that things might change), and as tickets were available to buy I didn't want people to buy tickets on the basis of what might change.
