I think mad max has been done at festies before, but not a whole futuristic set in a bladerunner/technological style, but correct me if you reckon I'm wrong?

What d'yall think of digital uber futurism vibes? granted was not as successful as could have been last year, but hopefully they'll have learnt from some technical mistakes.

Also the propanda uthoritarian regime of fun thing, I think loads of of people got that, others didnt, worth pursuing do you think? I think Ir ead on another forum topic that some people did understand this, getting the point that this was about UK festival culture and its "oooh look how free you all are here except youre not". that its actually a really regimented and controlled environment in many ways.

how about continuing the story a year later, what happens when the regime collapses and everyone tries to create their own utopia... etcetc

yes yes yes would love to have last years theme continuted, if only for the fact that i wanted to spend more time there than i did. the whole propaganda & control, utopia/dystopia thing was brilliant, thrilling... and so effective that i couldnt actually spend too much time there as it was SO unsettling (to me anyway)! had to experience it in short bursts to keep my mind intact!

i saw her. i couldnt keep my eyes off her!! she was quite the mesmering siren!

Hey Redmuz, I love reading your posts - I happen to know how incredibly hard the Shangri Art Department worked and its really gratifying to see that loads of people really got it and support it. Theres always gonna be some who don't but hey ho, you can't please everyone, doesnt help if people don't really work their way into the alleys and hidden spaces.

Also great seeing everyones ideas for it theres deffo some good things on there.

Can't believe so many peeps still into victoriana/retro though, didnt they get enough of all that with LV? I sure did!

By the way (and yes I do work in the art department in case it wasnt really obvious already) we are deffo developing the theme next year, and heres an exciting thing(for me anyway!) - we're sound-designing the whole field next year - verrryyyy exciting stuff.

with this being 40th anniversary i wouldn't be surprised to see shangri-la taking the lead on celebrating.....with the natural walk through from one end to the other lending itself to a journey through 4 decades....70's, 80's, 90's, 00's.....moving from psychedelia via prog rock into punk, acid house, hip hop, rave scene, britpop etc.....70's would be up at fence end so that the one way system out of Trash would encourage you to enter there...then move through and ultimately end up in a dystopian image of the future in Arcadia....

could be fun...
