Just wanted to post to say that I can't believe just HOW good 'Sigh No More', the new M&S album, is. It is terrific!

Production is spot on and every track is just a joy. Little Lion Man which was a good, if slightly formulaic single is given a new lease of life in this version, with a slightly faster tempo. Seriously guys, GET this record, it is FANTASTIC!

As I have literally just walked through the door after seeing them, I quite agree they are flipping marvelous. On a fairly off topic note, don't you just hate it when a venue only turns up the volume for the main act.

Tonight there were 2 supports for a sell out gig and at the back you couldn't hear a thing. The 2nd support act were a 10 piece band who looked really good but the venue was so busy the majority of people there couldn't here a thing.

It must be so demoralising for support bands (especially if they have travelled over from the states etc) to play to a room where all they can here is people talking.

I know many people go to gigs just to see bands who are 2nd on the bill or lower and really I think it takes the piss a bit when the soundman effectively encourages people to talk through their set by making the volume so low there's no point in trying to listen.

Having heard it at the weekend, I can concur it is a fine album. Traces of Beirut, Broken Records and probably a few others in there, and one song scarily reminds me of Babylon by David Gray, but there's enough of an original stamp on it to get the thumbs up. Shame I missed them at EOTR but hey, I enjoyed Ohbijou instead.
