The time between acts...

Was at Bestival this year and was amazed to see the time between bands on the main stage, filled with quality acts in their own right. Beardyman, Cuban Brothers, and any number of top notch DJ's.

Never seen this happen before but seems such a simple way to keep the party going between sets, and build people up to the next act.

Has this been done at Glasto? With the amount of artists on site it should be a sinch to fill the space with quality sounds rather than a CD. I know they have film clips for charities etc in this space, but could be a shout?

I really can't see the need for this at Glastonbury.

Rarely do you spend a large quantity of time at any one stage.. More often than not, you're moving from venue to venue, or sight-seeing, or doing a bit of shopping, or whatever. It's a fine idea for the smaller festivals, but if all you want to do at Glasto is sit in one place and be entertained... you're at the wrong festival.

Besides, "smaller" acts, I'm sure, would like their own slot at the smaller venues.

Its a nice idea but it would cost money which may not be available. Extra act would have a fee to play even if its for 30 minutes.

Could just recycle any number of acts already at the fest e.g. from the Dance Village. It's not a gig in its own right and im sure a lot of people would be happy to do it for free

That was the funniest thing. NERD fans whipped up into a frenzy of indignation, and Marcus Brigstocke up there going "No, seriously, third world debt is a really serious topic..."
