I am going with a group of 10 and can say with certainty that if England were playing most of our group would be watching without any doubt. If you don't lke football don't watch it. It's Glastonbury like everyone has said, there will be a million other things to do.

That's ridiculous. A 'sport' which glorifies the killing of animals. How are you drawing a comparison here? Even you know you are taking the piss and purposely being out of context.

Whatever this debate, the football will (and should) be shown. Were you up-in-arms about the rugby last year too? Are they better role models because they don't earn as much money as footballers? (Though if any of the full on fights, stamps, eye gouging, cheating etc that goes on in the 'gentlenman's game' of rugby happened in football they'd be national outcry).

I don't like rugby, but I couldn't care less if they shown it last year - I was somewhere else.

I do appreciate what Russy is saying and respect his opinion, and in an ideal world, Twat Batter would schedule in a break in the fixtures for Glasto weekend, but there really is so, so much to see around the site. Some of the 'acts' who have played on the main stage over the years have been dire, but the site is so big that you can escape ANYTHING.

With regards to the atmosphere afterwards, I really can't envisage any problems, especially if it's a group match. Even the total w**kers that are a cancer on the game shouldn't react in the ways Paul witnessed in 2004 in that circumstance.

Anyway, I love football, and I love Glastonbury. Part of the reason I love both is to get together with some mates and enjoy their company. So the footy on the big screen at Glasto with my mates? Hell yeah - bring it on! Can't wait!! Now - Group E or F please, Twat Batter.

I do know that The Rolling Stones/U2/David Bowie etc are among the most pampered, preening, grotesquely overpaid, vain, spoilt, adulterous, abusive, disrespectful, self centred, conceited, arrogant, prima donnas on the face of the planet. And the thought of seeing the likes of them on the big screen of the pyramid stage alongside the banners of Greenpeace, oxfam and wateraid makes my want to vomit.

Modern day pop stars are the symbol of everything that is wrong with the world today. £100,000 a week frauds on the big screen alongside pictures of people dying due to a lack of water. What a ghastly juxtaposition, and one that has no place at glastonbury.

I would hazard a guess that the entire england football team has donated almost certainly more money and a reasonable chance of donating more time to charity than you have.

I don't know you though so could be wrong, but you're making assumptions about people you've never met; from information your seen or heard provided by the press who are there to sell papers and advertising and make cash so I dont see why I can't make assumptions about you.

My thoughts: I love football, love it as a game, love lots of things about it, but at the same time despise the big money, the 'f**k the fans' mentality of modern corporate football. I can't, in my heart, follow England or a large professional club any more, I'm not going to cheer on rapists, bullies, drunk drivers and other assorted c**ts who have no concept of real life. The spirit, and all that's great about football isn't in the premiership, it's in grass roots stuff, it's in AFC wimbledon, FCUM and other places where fans aren't treated as sheep to be fleeced and the players and teams have a connection with the supporters and the community.
