Right, i've just gone over that top 100 list for 30mins and here is a rather splendid album of stuff they left out. Apologies for any errors.

1. The Word

2. Babys In Black

3. Glass Onion

4. For You Blue

5. Fool On The Hill - How the hell did they forget this?

6. Michelle

7. I'm Looking Through You

8. I'll Get You

9. I Will

10. Within You Without You

11. Fixing A Hole

12. Getting Better

13. I'll Be Back

Now, there aren't many bands, if any, who could release an album as strong as that still knocking about is there?

Big Joe - that was your best ever post.

How the f**k did they miss out on the likes of Glass Onion and Fool on The Hill FFS!!!!!

I see to be having a bit of a John Lennon day.

One of the most beautiful songs ever written....

Absolute 24 carat beauty.

what if #9 Dream IS the most beautiful song ever written to someone?

and you said, or implied, that he wasn't a good musician

I have as much perspective as you, and I KNOW for a fact, that those songs are going to easily stand any test of time

better musicians, doesnt imply that he's not good.

had pete townshend been shot by some nutter we'd be having the same thing on his birthday.

let's get this clear...

you could be doing something better than talking about John Lennon, but you've got nothing better to do than to inform us of this??

what's Pete Townshend got to do with it?

the fact that pete townshend isn't dead. if i'd compared him to bob marley that would have been silly. similarly if i'd compared him to freddie mercury. coincedence that the best folk are dead? think not.

did Bob Dylan get shot outside his home...

or Paul McCartney?

I have no idea what your point is

eh, you just made my point....

does getting shot out of one's home make one a better musician? seems like it.

who on earth suggested any such thing..??

christ, it's not that hard to get. being dead increases ones popularity and status.

people are talking as if lennon was the greatest songwriter to walk the earth. had mccartney been shot and not lennon, then roles would be reversed. pretty simple really. i try to judge music on the music, not the mortality of the performer.

yea, cause Lennon was considered a bit of an insignificance before he was shot...

many people think he was the greatest songwriter, the fact that he was shot as he was having a comeback, simply contributed to the devastating (to millions) event that it was

are you pissed?

so should lennon have been alive today, he'd be seen in the exact same way?

and had mccartney been shot instead, he'd not have an increased status?
