Charging Phones/iPods etc...

Last year I (reluctantly) paid a fiver in the site for them to charge my phone when it run out of charge after a couple of days.

Has anyone found a cheaper/better way to do this? I was thinking along the lines of electricity sockets in places that have wifi for laptops? Starbucks or something?

No idea if it works but for that price there's not much harm in trying to find out.

If you're not as cheap you could splash 30 quid on a Freeloader, solar powered and apparently charges everything (ipods, all the different mobiles etc)

Definitely spare batteries. You can get them off e/bay for under a fiver with free delivery. Might be a bit late now like. The ones in the phone shops will be more expensive.

You can get these battery-sized chargers from a lot of mobile phone shops, which you put an AA battery into and then charge your phone. Mine was from a mobile stall in Liverpool St station, cost a tenner and does about 5 charges off one battery ...

I bought a battery powered charger for £2.99 in Maplin earlier...have yet to test it so maybe it's rubbish but at that price it seemed worth checking out.

I bought an Energiser phone charger for £1.99 yesterday @ Home Bargains (you even get 2 lithium batteries with it free!), it takes 2 x AA batteries. Hopefully it's a lot better than the shit one I bought at Glastonbury that got so hot whilst charging my phone I was close to getting 3rd degree burns!

just turn your phone off, only keep it on when you need top text/ring a mate..problem solved
