Rockness 2010 Line-Up

It's an odd one, It all depends when they are doing a world tour again. If and when they do I think they'll play one festival in Scotland and one in England like last time. Now It would obviously be ebtween T and Rockness to fight it out to get them and who knows what they'd decide. Never the less I don't think we'll be waiting ten years or so to see them again. The Pyramid set-up is gone but I'm sure they have plenty of other ideas.

They're next album (as far as i know) is going to be the soundtrack to Tron V.2 which is released in 2011 so who knows if and when we'll see them again.

At least we do know Jim King is constantly looking into the availability of them.

According to wiki:

"Representatives of the band announced that Daft Punk have no tour plans for 2009, but stated that the duo is looking forward to performing in China during their next world tour "in 2010 or 2011"."

So hopefully next year but more likely 2011. Either way i'll be going to see them, whether it's Rockness, TITP or the Montana Testicle Festival

I think Justice could and should headline. Talk earlier that they wudnt get a big enough crowd for even the Clash tent is nonsense. They've completely packed out every tent they've played in. From TITP, Reading, Benni to Coachella.

Justice are everywhere right now and not in a bad way. Bigger than any of those bands you just mentioned (except Daft Punk, but as big as now imo) and even though they have only one album, everyone knows them. I've got a bunch of mates who are not into the Dance scene in a huge way but think Justice are superb. That to me says they have a sound that is immediately recognisable and likeable. Clash Arena headliners for Rockness and nowhere else on any stage or at any time.

And to add, Beastie Boys for main stage next year.

Personally I think they will get the following

Dance: Daft Punk Saturday main stage headline- they should keep having the big dance head line on Saturday night. Calvin Harris Friday main stage around 8pm- Not a CH fan at all but cuz of his new record ready for the weekend.... Altern-8 Sunday clash arena headline- seem pretty big at the moment but not main stage big. Little boots Clash arena opener on sunday or saturday- I think she is just lame pop but she has a loooot of hype at the moment. 2manydjs friday in the fat sams for a speicial late night party session.

Thought about putting underworld back only on the main stage but just didnt see it happening Oh and kid carpet on friday too!

Rock/indie:

We were promised jet packs saturday fat sams in the evening- after seeing frightend rabbit play that slot I see them playing good. bloc party friday mainstage headline- they just will play that slot very well {not as well as the flaming lips though} enter shikari sunday main stage evening - they please the dance, rock and indie crowds! Pendulum saturday night clash tent headline- thought about calling them dance but the new stuff is quite rocky and they have energy that suits the clash. You me at six sunday main stage around the time wombats played- this is probably my biggest stretch but they could do it brillaintly.

boy least likely to sunday 9pm- fat sams will probadly be all dance on sunday so they give a happy acoustic indie break from raving. {as you can see from user name i like twee bands like them}

no they don't. they sit somewhere outside all of them. they're awful.

I'd rather see any of:

The Knife / Fever Ray

Fake Blood

The Kills

Digitalism

Marmaduke Duke

Metronomy

Skream/Benga/Anything dubstep

Evil Nine

Deadmau5

Aphex Twin

The Presets

Unicorn Kid

Kavinsky

SebastiAn

Union of Knives

and the obligatory Justice shout-out of course....

    • Sure enough I did finish the Brosnan Bonds. Goldeneye is good but I think might be overrated by some Bond mega-fans, The World Is Not Enough is ok but nothing more than that and Die Another Day is just wild. I didn't hate Die Another Day like some have but its basically a wacky sci-fi film with Bond movie clothes.
    • Monaco comes across to me as something that's great for just watching people driving around, especially this year as it feels like this is a track where they can actually push compared to other circuits where superclipping ruins it, but where the cars seem to have outgrown it.   Though tbf Formula E has had decent Monaco races recently so maybe its a sign of car development philosophy being a factor.
    • Feel like a lot of people do just sit around by the stage at a festival waiting for one act anyway, no? I know Swift has a big mega-fandom - she wouldn't have done so many Wembley shows last year if she didn't - but it's not like she'd be unique in playing a festival and drawing a crowd on that specific day just for her.   But then tbf I feel like there'd be a few happy just to mosy around the rest of the site until maybe 2/3 acts beforehand.
    • Pretty good imo. Though I'm aware my position of being a big fan means I'm biased.   Reminds me a little of Justice, which shouldn't be that much of a surprise given I've heard Justice played a lot in Muse's pre-show playlists over the years.
