Arriving on Thursday?

Unlike previous Glastos where I and my crew have got there Wednesday evening at the very latest, this year for various reasons we are all piling into a hire car on Thursday morning to head over from London. For various other reasons the hire car won't be available till 8AM so by the time they come by to pick us up we are looking at a 9AM departure from South London.

Bearing that in mind,

A) What will queues be like around midday to get into the car parks?

How long do you reckon before we're actually through the pedestrian gates?

C) Just where in the name of holy £%$£ do you think we're going to find space for 4 tents at that time? (leaving aside right next to the bangin' longdrops / bottom of the hill / right next to the track)

I have a feeling that by the time we make it in, we could end up in the ar5e end of the corner of Paines Ground or something.

Anyone with Thursday-arrival experience got any tips or words of wisdom?

I'm leaving Southampton at 8am, hoping it won't be too busy by then but we've only got one tent. Might be a bit of trouble getting 4 tents all together.

Don't plan on spending much time in the tent so not really bothered

I've always got them on Thursday.

Yesh you won't have your pick of Pennards, but there's always been plenty of space

We arrived around 3pm on the Thursday last year, and there was plenty of room for 4 tents together. We camped in Woodsies, very convenient for Gate A.

Appeared to be loads of room in Dairy Grounds too.

Defo on the Dairy Grounds front - didnt seem to busy there last year.

i think last years record wendnesday crowd wont be repeated

due to the massive reduction in coach travellers this year

Good stuff - so nothing to lose sleep over then? Dairy ground would be fine, I camped there last time (in 2007) - though I recall it getting quite muddy, it was by no means alone in that affliction!
